Sisters Beneath the Shadow of Chains
The fingers were really pale. They looked elegant. The fingers were very steady. The fingers caught the edge of the fabric and the fingers tugged it back.
The light fell on the strangers face, which was hidden. It was like water flowing over rocks. It made the shadows go away from her hood. Just a little bit at a time. The light touched her cheek, which was smooth and curved. Her skin was very pale. It seemed to keep the light from the candle inside it rather than just bouncing it back. The light and the strangers skin were like that the light was, over the strangers face and it was a nice thing to see. The stranger and the light they were a pair the strangers face and the candlelight they went well together.
The darkness was going away slowly. It was like the darkness was giving up. The darkness surrendered.
