I answered the phone this time, and put it on speaker. The first thing I heard was whimpering, and it was made by a woman. I listened some more, and shot Idris a look once recognition hit me.
It was Idris' mom, I noted with surprise. But the bastard who had initiated the call was not saying anything, and Idris had motioned for me to stay quiet. He finally spoke, the bastard at the other end, his voice was throaty in an annoying way. It was as if he was forcing himself to sound like that.
"Have you considered my request? Favour if you look at it from a different perspective," he said, and I looked on in confusion, not sure what he was talking about but Idris seemed to fully understand what he was saying.
