I led the kids back into the ward, and made them sit on the empty bed before telling them softly that Leonard was hit but slightly.
"It's a little scratch," I told them. "The doctors are fixing it." I added when I noticed that Laurel had narrowed her eyes.
"Let's go and see him," Laurel suggested, and for a moment I couldn't think of any excuse to tell her.
"When the doctors are done fixing it we'll go." It was Idris, and I couldn't be more relieved, especially when Laurel nodded in agreement.
"When will the doctors be done fixing it?" Laurel asked, and I brought my wrist closer to my face to look at the time. It was a few minutes before the surgery would be completed, and I had just realized it.
"I will go and check if the doctors are done," I said. "After which we would all go," I added, and headed for the door. I didn't want them to go in to see Leonard just yet, not when I didn't know his current state or if…
