I jerked once more as I felt the impact of the bullet as it penetrated the fabric of my suit, and drove painfully into my chest. I was still nursing the pain on my left arm, and trying hard not to scream out in pain when I was shot the second time.
The first thought that came to my mind at that instant was Nicole, who I was sure was safe in the ward I had made her enter, but for how long?
What will become of her when I am unable to keep standing. The thought that it was only a matter of minutes before I would fall to the ground made it even more painful to bear.
