"Are you okay?" Idris asked as Leonard's cars drove out of the compound, and I nodded slowly even though it was obvious that I was not okay. How could I be okay when my attempt to do something really sweet and thoughtful for Leonard had only managed to arouse suspicions.
I was not okay, I was sad, I was angry, and I felt betrayed by Leonard who should trust me but clearly does not. I looked away from the gate which the convoy had driven past only a few seconds ago, and now empty. I could feel my eyes begin to water, and also Idris' gaze.
"Let's go." I said, blinking rapidly to force back the tears which he had formed in my eyes, and got into Idris' car. Idris got in as well, and he drove out of the compound, directly to Leonard's mansion, okay my house.
