"So the Fourth Raikage, even under pressure from the Land of Lightning's Daimyō, has reactivated that clan. He's got guts," Chen said, strok
"So the Fourth Raikage, even under pressure from the Land of Lightning's Daimyō, has reactivated that clan. He's got guts," Chen said, stroking his chin with a smile.
"However, Fourth Raikage, I suggest, for the sake of the Five Kage Summit, you issue new orders to them."
"They're masters of genjutsu, said to rival the Uchiha's Sharingan, but Uchiha Kai is no ordinary ninja. Any mistake could derail the summit and undermine the Third Hokage's plan."
The Fourth Raikage's expression shifted slightly. He coldly snorted, offering no further objection.
As Chen had surmised, even he didn't know the limits of Kai's power. He had no confidence in winning a direct confrontation, let alone a large-scale battle.
And this clan was an even greater unknown.
"Hero of the Hero, are you going to contact Uchiha Kai? If you don't mind, I suggest the Fourth Raikage entrust this task to you. It's a show of trust, fulfilling the terms of our agreement," Dodai said.
This proposal stunned both the Fourth Raikage and Chen. Their cooperation was currently only verbal.
The success of the Five Kage Summit depended on their future interactions. If Chen left Kumogakure, the Raikage could easily renege.
But Dodai's suggestion was a significant gesture of goodwill, solidifying their alliance and providing a basis for persuading the other three Great Nations.
Sensing the shift in atmosphere, Dodai sighed. "Fourth Raikage, don't misunderstand. I just want to avoid further conflict and prevent Kumogakure, and the entire shinobi world, from suffering greater losses. His strength is truly unfathomable."
"I agree with Dodai-sensei's suggestion," Samui said, clenching her fist.
The Fourth Raikage, after a moment of consideration, waved his hand. "Dodai, draft a letter. Have Konoha's Dragon God deliver it to them."
Seeing a breakthrough, Chen was surprised, then chuckled wryly. "Fourth Raikage, I do need to find Uchiha Kai, but the Third Hokage has already sent someone stronger than me. Before that, I'm worried that clan, obsessed with the Uchiha, might do something reckless."
"Someone stronger than you?" The Fourth Raikage was surprised. In his eyes, Hero of the Konoha, with his exceptional ninjutsu, was already an elite Jonin. That the Third Hokage sent someone stronger to contact Kai highlighted the importance of the summit and Konoha's depth of resources.
Unlike the other four Great Nations, which were severely depleted, Konoha still had an abundance of talent, both young and old. This was likely why Hiruzen dared to call another Five Kage Summit.
Meanwhile, the Five Great Nations were reeling from the events in Takigakure. In Amegakure, under a perpetually overcast sky, Hanzo, clad in battle armor and wearing a specialized breathing apparatus, was meditating in his high tower. He suddenly opened his eyes.
His gravelly voice echoed, "Show yourself. You had me halt the Akatsuki purge. Explain yourself. If you can't convince me, leave Amegakure."
A figure materialized in the relentless downpour. Danzō, leaning on his cane, approached with a single, uncovered eye gleaming. "Hanzo, you're still the same. You want to eliminate any threat."
"But do you know why you failed in the Second Great Ninja War?"
Hanzo's muscles tensed. He turned, vanishing instantly. He reappeared, his sickle flashing like a viper, aimed at Danzō's neck. The poison on the blade could easily kill Danzō.
"Heh, Hanzo, I anticipated this. But do you really think I've been idle in Amegakure?" Danzō smiled, his bandaged right hand reaching for the incoming sickle.
CLANG!
Metal shrieked. The sickle sliced through Danzō's bandages, revealing pale skin. Thick tree roots erupted, instantly binding the sickle.
"The First Hokage, Hashirama Senju's Wood Release?" Hanzo's face paled.
Before he could react, Danzō's hand extended more roots, wrapping around him. If caught, he would be bound and impaled.
Hanzo, however, was known as the Demigod. If not for Nagato's overpowered abilities, he wouldn't have been defeated. With a moment of clarity, he performed a Shunshin, vanishing.
BOOM! Danzō's attack struck the rooftop, tearing deep fissures in the thick floor.
Reappearing several meters away, Hanzo looked at Danzō, half-transformed into a wooden monstrosity, his arm covered in Sharingan.
For the first time, Hanzo showed respect.
"I never expected to see a flawed version of Wood Release after witnessing it in the First Hokage."
