Chapter 257: Domain Unleashed, Angelic Judgment (Part 3)
Observing the battle, Ye Wen was surprised to see that Tang Chen could wield a dual domain. For a single spirit soul master, this was rare, though the god bestowed Killing God Domain held limited significance here.
As the fight continued, Tang Chen grew more unsettled. The young girl facing him wasn't just holding her ground she was improving rapidly with every exchange. Realizing he was being used as a sharpening stone, Tang Chen made a swift decision.
"This girl is using me to hone her skills. I can't let this drag on any longer. One final strike to settle things then I'll focus on the other one," he resolved.
At once, Tang Chen unleashed his nine spirit rings eight black and one red. Ye Wen, watching from afar, shook his head, unimpressed. A god king with just this level of support for his successor? Stingy indeed.
"Ring Explosion! Great Sumeru Hammer!"
Tang Chen poured the essence of his spirit rings into the Clear Sky Hammer, transforming it into a massive, imposing weapon that looked as heavy as a mountain. Yet, in Tang Chen's hands, it moved with astonishing agility, generating a ferocious momentum that even Ye Wen watched with respect. The Clear Sky Hammer, after all, was a weapon of rare potential, and when fully wielded by a master, could reach heights no ordinary soul master could.
Ye Wen knew that the Great Sumeru Hammer was an ultimate technique only gods could truly unleash its full potential. In this moment, Tang Chen's strength could rival even a second tier god.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Qianqian finally revealed her true power, releasing her ten golden rings. The sight left Tang Chen briefly speechless, but he quickly resumed his assault with renewed ferocity. Both fighters were fully committed now only one could survive.
Seeing the immense strength Tang Chen displayed, Ye Wen couldn't help but acknowledge it. "As expected of a god level technique. Right now, Tang Chen's power is almost equivalent to a first tier god's."
But a knowing smile soon crossed his face as Qianqian rapidly retreated, creating distance between herself and Tang Chen. Mistaking this for an attempt to outlast him, Tang Chen rushed forward, determined to close the gap before his explosive state wore off.
Qianqian's face, however, was calm, almost reverent. "Be honored, Tang Chen. This technique was taught to me by my master, and you will be the first to witness its full power. Engrave this moment in your mind as your final memory."
With that, Qianqian raised her sword skyward, and her ten golden rings merged into a blinding platinum white ring, which encircled her form. She hovered in the air, serene and unyielding, as Tang Chen approached.
"Domain Unleashed: Angelic Judgment!" she declared.
Tang Chen prepared to strike but was blinded by a sudden flash of white light, his movements slowing to a crawl. By the time he regained his senses, he found himself in an unfamiliar realm, surrounded by drifting white clouds. Instincts sharpened by countless battles guided him as he located two presences within this new domain Qianqian and Ye Wen positioned in a perfect triangle from him.
While the scene was surreal, Tang Chen's dual domains fortified his confidence. He took a step toward Qianqian, only to discover that the distance between them never decreased. No matter how he tried to approach, she remained out of reach.
"It's futile," Qianqian said, her voice echoing in the tranquil space. "This domain incorporates my master's techniques. As long as I have spirit power, you will never close the distance."
Tang Chen's face darkened. This is no ordinary domain.
Ye Wen, watching with a satisfied grin, recalled his development of the 2.0 version of Douluo's domain abilities. Regular domains, while powerful for boosts and suppressions, had a critical flaw: they couldn't prevent an enemy from escaping. Drawing from his god level domain experience, Ye Wen had engineered a domain built on total confinement. Enemies within this domain couldn't flee, turning it into a battlefield with no escape.
Inside the domain, Qianqian steadied her sword against her brow, invoking her power. "Judgment: Begin."
Her eight wings detached and floated in the air, coalescing into a faceless angelic form, radiating a blinding sanctity. Qianqian's eyes turned cold and impartial as she addressed Tang Chen.
"Judgment: Trial," she pronounced. "Tang Chen, do you bear the sin of killing the innocent?"
Tang Chen frowned, momentarily uncertain of her intent.
The faceless angel raised its hands, materializing a golden scroll that shimmered as it connected with Tang Chen. In seconds, the scroll transformed from gold to crimson, and from crimson to a pitch black.
Ye Wen shook his head in disapproval. While Douluo lore had painted Tang Chen as a tragic romantic, here, Qianqian's domain revealed his true nature a merciless butcher, treating ordinary lives as dispensable in his ruthless pursuit of power. The domain's verdicts were clear: taking a single life left a faint red mark, while a thousand deaths turned the scroll completely crimson. For it to darken entirely signified the weight of over ten thousand lives.
As if in response to the grim judgment, the faceless angel shifted, adopting Qianqian's visage, its expression blazing with righteous fury as it declared, "Guilty of heinous sins! Sentenced to death!"
The angel then merged back into Qianqian, whose demeanor grew icily resolute.
"Angel's Judgment: Execution," she proclaimed, radiating an overwhelming light as she charged toward Tang Chen.
Startled, Tang Chen attempted to retaliate but was astounded by Qianqian's sudden increase in strength. In moments, the once mighty Tang Chen, the so called "Invincible of the Earth," lay defeated, broken and barely alive, his eyes filled with disbelief.
In this unique domain, Qianqian's strength had been tripled against a sinner like Tang Chen, a fitting punishment aligned with the Angel God's role as the divine arbiter.
