With her lashes batting against her cheeks, she hummed as Mia had no response to the question that Bree had asked her.
"You don't have anything else to say?" Bree asked. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw Mia turning to take a sip of the cola without saying anything or showing any signs of guilt or recognition. Shouldn't Mia be filled with panic by now? Why was Mia so calm, as if she didn't understand what she was telling her?
Mia paused. She swallowed the drink in her mouth and turned to look at the woman sitting beside her. She questioned, "What am I supposed to say? Though what happened with Mr Lucas was indeed cruel and harsh, I don't see how my opinion would make any difference, for it had already happened, and the past cannot be rewritten."
