"You didn't find anything else?" Lucas asked. His teeth were gritted so hard that he was sure they were about to crack. All these years, he had made Mia suffer his sole ambition and so when his mother had asked him to bring his father down and take everything away from him, including shattering Tony Wills by breaking his only daughter, his pride and honour, he had agreed.
Because somewhere he wanted to see Mia, that arrogant woman who had broken his heart into pieces, suffer and hurt just like him.
But the more he stayed with her, the more he realised that all the preparations that he had made were nowhere near enough and that he hadn't done his investigation well. Maybe somewhere he didn't want to know anything about Mia, not deep enough that it would change his mind anyway.
