After hearing the full story, Su Xiaoqi was both exasperated and amused. When it came down to it, this whole mess could really be blamed on Nami herself.
In her eagerness to reach Alabasta sooner, Nami had increased their sailing speed, which caused the Straw Hat crew to arrive at Drum Island several days ahead of schedule compared to the original timeline.
As a result, before they even had the chance to recruit Chopper, they ran into the Blackbeard Pirates.
Once the two groups crossed paths, Luffy—true to his nature—immediately picked a fight. Even if Nami had wanted to stop him, there was no way she could've done so.
But the current Luffy was no match for Blackbeard. No matter how many plot buffs he might have, he simply wasn't strong enough to beat him—unless he suddenly turned into Ichigo Kurosaki, the king of cheats.
The other Straw Hats fared no better. Against the Blackbeard Pirates, they were thoroughly outmatched.
Nami, Usopp, Kaya, and Vivi didn't join the fight. Usopp was too scared to move, and the other two lacked any combat ability. Though Nami now wielded railgun powers, she knew that even with her strength, challenging the Blackbeard Pirates would only end in disaster—and would likely provoke them even further.
Fortunately, Luffy had no bounty yet. And after Vivi revealed her identity and offered herself in exchange for the crew's lives, Blackbeard refrained from killing them all on the spot.
Otherwise, Nami would've had no choice but to expose her special "summoning method" just to call Su Xiaoqi over for help.
Later, Nami volunteered to join Blackbeard's crew temporarily, using her familiarity with the Going Merry and her navigational skills as leverage. Her true intention was to find the right moment to rescue Vivi.
At present, the Blackbeard Pirates were sailing across the ocean, and Nami believed this was the perfect window to strike—so she contacted Su Xiaoqi.

Zhu Zhuqing gently adjusted his clothes and said, "Be careful. I'll be waiting for you to come back."
"Got it."
After embracing Zhu Zhuqing, Su Xiaoqi vanished from sight.

Nami, who had found an excuse to sneak into the ship's cabin, nearly burst into tears when she saw Su Xiaoqi appear. She threw her arms around him.
Living among the Blackbeard Pirates had left her in constant fear. Every moment, every move had to be made with extreme caution.
Su Xiaoqi understood how she felt. He gently patted her back and asked, "Where's Princess Vivi?"
"She's tied up on the deck," Nami replied. "That guy Lafitte's watching her. Also, the Blackbeard Pirates' next destination is Alabasta."
Su Xiaoqi frowned. Things were becoming messy. The storyline was now completely off-track. He suspected that Blackbeard, having learned of Vivi's true identity, planned to use her for some twisted scheme.
At that moment, Blackbeard's grating laughter echoed from outside the cabin.
"Zehahaha! So there's a little rat hiding on board after all!"
The next second, the cabin door was kicked open from the outside.
Su Xiaoqi moved in front of Nami protectively, his gaze locked on the figure standing in the doorway.
"So it's just Blackbeard and Burgess."
At this point in the timeline, the Blackbeard Pirates consisted of only five members. Lafitte was still guarding Vivi, Van Augur the sniper was probably hiding somewhere, waiting for a clear shot, and Doc Q, the ship's doctor, was nowhere to be seen yet.
"Zehahaha!" Blackbeard laughed loudly as he eyed Su Xiaoqi. "Kid, I'm curious—how did you get on board?"
When he had first boarded the ship, Blackbeard had used his Observation Haki to scan every corner and had ordered Burgess to search thoroughly. He was certain this guy hadn't been on board earlier. He had just appeared—out of thin air.
Su Xiaoqi smiled calmly. "Suke Suke no Mi, Doa Doa no Mi, Soru Soru no Mi, Goro Goro no Mi—which one do you think I ate?"
Hearing the names of those Devil Fruits, Blackbeard's pupils contracted. He stared at Su Xiaoqi and asked again, "Then let me ask you this—what's your purpose here?"
Su Xiaoqi smiled again. "To rescue the woman behind me. To save the princess of Alabasta. To join your pirate crew. Or maybe I'm just passing by. Guess again."
Burgess couldn't hold back anymore. "Captain, I think this guy's messing with us. Let me grab him and interrogate him properly."
Blackbeard didn't object. He also wanted to see what tricks this newcomer had up his sleeve. If he could confirm the guy was a Devil Fruit user, all the better.
After all, Blackbeard had eaten the Yami Yami no Mi, the bane of all Devil Fruits. If this guy had powers, Blackbeard was confident he could capture him.
With a sinister grin, Burgess cracked his knuckles and suddenly lunged forward.

A moment later, he flew backward even faster than he had charged in.

Su Xiaoqi scoffed. He had zero respect for Burgess. The guy had nothing going for him aside from brute strength and decent endurance—completely useless otherwise.
Spreading his hands toward Blackbeard, Su Xiaoqi said, "How did this weakling become one of your crew members? Have pirate recruitment standards really dropped this low?"
Blackbeard paused, then let out a hearty laugh. "Interesting! It's been a long time since I met someone as amusing as you."
Just then, Burgess staggered back to his feet, growling, "I'll kill you!"
"Stand down," Blackbeard ordered this time, then looked back at Su Xiaoqi and continued, "If you're here to join my crew, I'd gladly welcome you. But if you're here to cause trouble…"
His tone suddenly turned cold, and a black mist began to swirl around him.
"…then I'll kill you with my own hands."
Su Xiaoqi replied coolly, "I'm not interested in weakling pirate crews. If you want me to join, show me your strength first."
"Oh, and by the way—this girl and the Alabasta princess are both mine. I'm into power, yes, but I like women even more."
He added with a smirk, "This girl's a bit lacking in some areas, but I suppose she still qualifies as a woman. Barely."
Su Xiaoqi knew that Blackbeard was currently on the hunt for strong individuals to recruit. So he figured, why not go along with it for now? If he could just meet Vivi, he might find a chance to rescue her.
Nami, on the other hand, was glaring at him with clenched teeth. She was sure he wasn't just bluffing with those degrading comments—he absolutely meant them.
"Zehahaha!"
Blackbeard laughed uproariously.
"I can give you as many women as you want—but only if you prove your strength and join my crew."
To him, Su Xiaoqi's words were music to his ears. Now this was a real pirate. Not like those clowns back on Drum Island, who claimed to be pirates but acted like righteous heroes. They didn't even have bounties. And they dared to say they were going to be Pirate King?
