Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Aftermath

The moment Veldanava opened the portal, the group stepped out of the raw chaotic magicules of the Ivarage's dimension and into the Heavenly Palace. They materialised directly inside the grand Meeting Chamber, collapsing into their ornate chairs. The sudden shift from weeks of agonising effort to the Palace's profound quiet was a palpable shock. Though they were all healed by Veldanava, completely their mind fatigue still remains, though they were all recovering from that quickly.

Dino immediately spoke, his voice heavy with fatigue and boredom. "I am done. I'm going on a long vacation, free from duties."

Pico and Gracia, his subordinates, instantly protested. "Dino, you lazy guy! You always let us do your work, and with vacation, you'll just push your work on us, and now you want a vacation? No, never! We'll also go on a vacation!"

Feldway looked pointedly at Zalario, who sighed, running a hand over his head. Zalario addressed the three slackers and troublemakers sternly. "All three of you lazy slouches are not getting any vacation at all. Be serious; we are in a meeting now. Understood?"

Guy, watching the spectacle with an amused grin, offered a comment. "I never expected Primordial Angels to act like this. After all, Primordial Demons like me always pursue strength." Guy stated the fact calmly. "Though I was the strongest among them, there was only a single weirdo among them, Primordial Black Noir; others were never taken seriously by me at all."

Origin, sitting nearby, knew exactly who Guy was talking about.

Guy continued, seemingly unbothered by the Angels' presence. "Well, for a fact, once in the Underworld, Rain and Misery—or, according to Primordial Demon status, Primordial Green Vert and Primordial Blue Bleu—both challenged me to a fight." The Primordial Angels listened intently; it was rare to hear a Demon Lord or Primordial Demon like Guy to discuss his peers. "When they challenged me to a fight, I easily defeated them and killed them. Only then did I understand that Primordial Demons were immortal and could not truly be killed. However, when their cores were crushed, they were reborn to serve me completely as my subordinates."

The Angels were silent after hearing the chilling, cold story.

"Wow, you demons are so cold and cruel," Pico finally said, aghast.

Guy simply smiled. "Thanks for the praise."

"Now, now, Guy," Origin interjected, a hint of dry annoyance in his tone. "Pico wasn't praising you."

Feldway, seeing that the solemnity of the occasion was completely lost by the chattering, stood up. "Everyone, please be serious. Lord Veldanava is here."

"Oh yes, I know that, Feldway," Guy replied sarcastically.

Feldway stared at Guy, his eyes narrowing with deep disapproval. "Do you have any problem, Guy?"

The mutual dislike between them was clear due to their different nature. Veldanava decided to intervene before the matter escalated, after all, he knew the only reason they both cooperated was because of Ivarage. "Now, now, Feldway and Guy, if you both remain quiet, shall I speak?"

Feldway instantly silenced himself, obeying his Lord's order. Guy also quieted down.

Veldanava continued. "I must say that you handled everything perfectly, especially fighting Ivarage. Feldway and Guy, you handled it perfectly."

Feldway's eyes were instantly alight with stars at the praise.

"No problem," Guy said, shrugging off the compliment. "After all, if that beast was left unchecked, it would destroy the Cardinal World. I don't want that to happen; I gave you my promise to protect the world."

Veldanava nodded. "Now, everyone except Feldway, Guy, and Origin, leave."

The other Angels acknowledged the order, stood up, and left the Meeting Chamber.

Once they were gone, Guy leaned forward. "So, Veldanava, why did you ask everyone to leave except us?"

Feldway also inquired, his voice earnest. "What is it, Lord Veldanava?"

"You know that Ivarage is sealed in that dimension, but the chaotic magicules he keeps releasing may cause some creatures or monsters to be born from them," Veldanava explained. "Feldway, since you are the one personally monitoring the entire dimension, if any creatures spawn, you must destroy them, but only if they are mindless. If any of them has intelligence or ego, you must keep it alive and tell me immediately."

Feldway nodded, serious. "Lord Veldanava, I will take care of that."

Veldanava then turned to Guy. "Guy, as for you, if any of the intelligent creatures escape Feldway's watch and enter Cardinal World, so before they can cause any damage, you must destroy them. Of course, if any are intelligent, keep it alive and tell me. Understood?"

Guy nodded, agreeing to the new task. "I understand."

He then pointed at Origin, who was sitting calmly, relaxing. "What work will this lazy bastard do?"

Origin, targeted again, sighed internally. This bastard, Guy. I just wanted to rest and live lazily till I find something interesting, and this guy is volunteering me for a job.

"Oh, Origin also has a job," Veldanava said. "He will create a monitoring device that will detect any massive surge or loss of magicules around the world, as well as detect if a huge loss of lives has occurred."

Guy's eyes lit up. As the Mediator, he constantly regretted the tedious work of monitoring world peace. As well as monitoring all those human kingdoms so they don't do foolish acts like summoning any more Primordials or do something that is not allowed. A device like that would significantly ease his burden of not constantly looking at them. He looked at Origin with a genuine, delighted smile.

"You will do this, right, Origin?" Veldanava asked.

Origin's eyes twitched, but he replied smoothly, "Of course, Sir Veldanava. I will do it."

Veldanava smiled. "Then the meeting is over."

Feldway immediately bowed to Veldanava, then teleported out of the chamber to the dimension where Ivarage was sealed to begin his eternal watch.

In the chamber, Guy, Origin, and Veldanava remained. After a few seconds of silence, Guy said, "Well, I will also leave now."

He was about to teleport when Origin called out, "Hey, Guy."

Guy stopped. "What?"

"Well, now that this Ivarage matter is over, you will soon be challenged," Origin replied.

Guy became instantly interested. "By whom?"

"Velzard, of course."

"Velzard, the one you mentioned," Guy repeated, intrigued. "Veldanava's younger sister. Then I will wait and see if she appears, and if she is really as strong as you say that might be interesting." Origin knew that Guy craved battle and power, and very few beings could stand against him.

Origin smiled cunningly. "Guy, since I am helping you build a monitoring system, shouldn't you bring me the materials I will ask for, okay?"

Guy instantly understood that Origin was planning to make him do all the heavy lifting for raw material gathering. "I know," he grumbled, and then he teleported away towards his territory, the Northern Continent.

Now only Origin and Veldanava were left. Origin turned to Veldanava, his smile chillingly calm. "Sir Veldanava, what did you mean by letting me do the work of building the monitoring system?"

Veldanava, who knew Origin disliked work and preferred to relax, smiled back. "Origin, don't forget you promised me that you would help whenever asked."

Origin sighed in resignation. "Okay, I understand. I will make a worldwide monitoring system with all the functions you asked for." Veldanava, hearing this, asked, You know how to make this type of stuff to which Origin replied with a hint of pride in his voice as he said. "Of course. What did you think I was doing all those millions of years while practising? I was also learning science! After all, in the Marvel Cosmos, science is also a primary force; if my existence could be counted, it would be more than a billion years, which, of course, is nothing compared to You, Sir Veldanava, or those Primordial Angels and Primordial Demons. So, give me a few days or a week. I will start making a blueprint for this monitoring system."

Veldanava smiled, relieved. "I will leave you with this job then, Origin. Now I can go and relax." Veldanava quickly vanished before Origin could voice any further complaints.
