Inside the Soul Realm
Kieran opened his eyes slowly. It felt like floating inside a bubble. There was no gravity here,. The only sound in the room was the pitter patter sounds of his footsteps as he walked in the vast space with his necklace clutched in his hands. The only portal to his return.
He looked down. His body glowed. He could see through his hands. He was in between worlds now—just as he had planned.
"Raine!" he called out, but his voice returned to him.
He looked around. Behind him, the white fog twisted, curling into long streams of color—blue, purple, gold. They moved slowly, like they were alive.
Suddenly, a dark figure passed through the fog.
Kieran turned sharply.
"Raine?" he asked approaching the figure with caution.
Once he got an inch closer. He noticed it wasn't who he was expecting..
This figure was taller, thinner. Its limbs were too long. Its eyes—just glowing holes where a face should be. And it was dragging something behind it.
