Chapter 312 - Chapter 309: Wanda’s Dream

The Dark Phoenix finally came to her senses and pulled out her stash of snacks.

"Do you want some snacks? They're all really delicious."

Little Jean swallowed hard. She looked at the colorful snacks and candies in front of her and couldn't resist the temptation. She stepped forward, allowing herself to be scooped up and hugged like a toy by the Dark Phoenix.

"How about sleeping with me tonight? I'll even buy you some pretty clothes."

"I want to go home and find my mom and dad."

Though she was still a child, Jean understood that these people wanted to adopt her—but all she wanted was to return home.

"But they aban—"

Before the Dark Phoenix could finish her sentence, she received another knock on the head.

"Shut up," Jean warned with a sharp look.

Chino had forgotten this delicate issue.

At that age, children only wanted to stay by their parents' side.

"Let's take her home for now. We can always bring her back when she's grown up," Venom suggested.

"That works," Chino agreed.

Chino found Jean's parents' home and had a private conversation with them.

"What? You want us to raise her until adulthood? No way! Take this monster away immediately—we don't want her!" Jean's father said with a look of pure disgust.

Her mother, standing silently to the side, appeared conflicted and hesitant. Her eyes betrayed a hint of sorrow, but years of being afraid of her husband left her too scared to object. She kept her head down and said nothing.

Chino wasn't surprised by their reaction.

"How about you listen to my offer first?" he suggested.

"No matter what the offer is, we won't agree," the father replied bluntly.

But before he could finish his sentence, a dazzling golden light caught his eye and stunned him into silence. His jaw froze mid-speech, and he stared, dumbfounded, at what appeared before him.

On the table, a small mountain of shimmering gold bars had materialized out of thin air. The gentle glow from the gold was warm and mesmerizing.

"These are worth one hundred million U.S. dollars. As long as you both sign this contract, they're yours," Chino said calmly.

The moment he placed the contract on the table, the couple rushed to sign it.

"Hahaha! I'm rich! Don't worry, I'll raise her with love and care until she's all grown up!" Jean's father said with a greedy grin, biting one of the gold bars for confirmation. His face was full of flattery.

Chino handed Jean over to them.

"Jean, I'm so sorry for losing you. I deserve to die for that. Can you forgive your dad?" her father said with fake remorse, slapping himself repeatedly as if filled with regret.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," her mother repeated again and again.

Jean smiled brightly as she saw her parents acting like their old selves again. She turned around to share the moment, only to find that the people who had brought her there were already gone.

Meanwhile, Earth Federation forces had mobilized.

It only took Chino three minutes to completely wipe them out, revive them, and then repeat the process twice more.

After this display, all the world's military forces fell into despair. They finally understood the truth—humans could never defeat a god.

Afterward, Tom, along with Hydra, successfully took over operations on Earth No. 2, aided by Professor X and Magneto.

Hydra, fueled with enthusiasm, had finally achieved their dream of world domination—even if it was in another world.

Although Earth No. 2's Federation pretended to submit on the surface, they continued their covert schemes.

Freedom fighters, terrorist attacks, illegal human experimentation, assassinations, empty promises—these problems arose one after another.

But Tom, with the support of Professor X and Magneto, regarded these as mere child's play.

In a world where no other supernatural powers existed besides mutants, the combination of the two was simply invincible.

Lucifer noticed something. She extended her finger into the void and pinched out a small glowing light.

"Even now, they still refuse to give up? That little girl must be something special," she murmured with a curious smile. Then, with a flick of her hand, she tossed the light back.

The glowing dot wobbled, then set off in a specific direction.

It flew straight into Chino Manor.

Passing through the walls, it entered a quiet bedroom.

Inside, Wanda lay fast asleep in bed. On the nightstand next to her was her half-finished magic homework. The runes on the paper shimmered faintly in the dim light.

Without hesitation, the little glowing light drifted directly into Wanda's forehead.

Just then, the door opened gently, and Pamela walked in.

She moved quietly, barely making a sound. She scanned the room and her gaze landed on Wanda.

Walking over to her bedside, Pamela stared at Wanda for a long moment, her expression filled with suspicion.

"Was that just my imagination?" she whispered.

Gently, she pulled the blanket up around Wanda before turning and leaving the room.

In her sleep, Wanda felt like she was dreaming.

In the dream, her entire life had changed.

She had no loving parents. From a young age, she relied only on her brother, Pietro, for survival.

They hid their powers in fear, careful never to be discovered. But Pietro's impulsiveness caused their powers to be revealed.

Magneto found them. He was a cold and merciless ruler who forced them to join the Brotherhood.

From then on, they were swept into an endless war against humanity.

Wanda's heart went through countless struggles. From her initial hesitation to becoming numb amidst blood and death—it took less than half a year.

She naively believed that as long as they kept fighting, mutants would one day have a bright future, where everyone could live peacefully together.

But one day, fate dealt her a devastating blow.

In a chaotic battle, Pietro was accidentally killed by Magneto.

At that moment, Wanda's entire world collapsed.

She was overwhelmed by grief and despair. Regret surged through her like a tidal wave.

In her madness and pain, she made a terrifying wish: "No more mutants."

Her actions nearly destroyed the entire mutant race.

Afterward, many mutants resented and isolated her. Her reputation among them plummeted, and she was left to face the consequences alone.

Eventually, consumed by despair, she came up with a desperate idea: go back in time and change everything.

She wanted to return to the time before the Brotherhood, before the war with humanity—just a normal, peaceful life.

She poured everything she had into traveling back in time.

But to her horror, she found herself not in the past, but in a completely different world.

There, another version of herself already existed.

Without hesitation, she killed that version of herself, absorbed her powers, and left a frenzied Pietro behind to cover her escape as she leapt through time again.

Again and again, she traveled between alternate worlds, murdering versions of herself, all in pursuit of the "true" past—desperate to rewrite the fate of mutantkind.

It had become her deepest, most dangerous obsession.
