On Earth.
The previous natural disasters had all subsided.
But a new problem had emerged.
The sun had disappeared, plunging the entire world into darkness.
Everyone was investigating the cause of this phenomenon.
Due to this unprecedented incident, the threat of war among nations loomed on the horizon.
"Professor, what do we do now?"
All the students who had been sent to fight in Vietnam had returned. Among them, Havok (Alex Summers) asked with a trace of worry in his voice.
They were deserters now, and everyone knew what the consequences of desertion were.
"Don't worry. The Leader will take care of everything," Professor X replied calmly.
"The Leader?"
The mutants looked puzzled. When did they get a leader?
Meanwhile, on Chino's side...
"Doctor Zola, have you found the locations of the nuclear missiles?" Tony asked.
They had already begun preparations in advance.
"Of course. I've identified the locations of every nuclear weapon on Earth. The Sentinel robots have taken full control of them. The defense network of this era is as fragile as if it didn't exist at all," Doctor Zola replied confidently.
"Good. Even if they can't hurt Chino, let's not allow those idiots to do anything reckless."
No one understood the greed and stupidity of the elites better than Tony. The moment their power is threatened, they'll do anything.
"How about I have the Sentinel robots massacre them first, then install some obedient puppets in their place?" Zola suggested.
His algorithm could easily calculate the exact number of people that needed to be killed to make the rest obedient.
"No, no, no! Let's wait for Chino's command," Tony quickly stopped him.
Not long after...
Daylight returned.
The sky turned crimson, and a golden figure descended from above. The moment everyone saw him, they understood—
This was a god.
"I am the Demon King. Your universe has already been destroyed.
From this moment on, I will rule this planet. All wars shall cease. Every nation will unite under the new Second Earth Federation."
As soon as these words were spoken, all the world leaders snapped out of their confusion.
To hell with gods. If he were just a harmless mascot, they might even be willing to worship him.
But dare to touch their nations and their power?
Then it's time for a war against a god.
"Launch the nukes! Shoot that bastard out of the sky!"
The President of the United States immediately gave the order.
"Mr. President, all contact with our nuclear submarines has been lost," the Secretary of Defense reported, his voice trembling.
"Then contact Professor X. Tell him if he handles that 'god,' I'll pardon his students."
The President quickly shifted tactics and issued new orders.
"Professor X isn't answering his phone. And there's new intel from Vietnam—every mutant has fled the battlefield. Even Magneto has vanished from his prison cell."
"Sh*t…"
Even so, they didn't give up. Secret military mobilizations began.
Meanwhile, Chino left behind a phantom image of himself and teleported to the mutant gathering site.
There were just over a thousand mutants gathered there. In this era, many mutants were still in hiding or hadn't awakened their abilities yet.
As Chino descended from the sky, the gathered mutants glanced at him and then looked up at the divine figure still floating above.
"Professor, is he our new leader?" Havok asked excitedly.
"Yes. Mutants now have new hope," Professor X replied with a warm nod.
Mystique also looked curiously at the so-called god.
"Chino, what's the plan?" Tony asked, pointing up at the humanoid sun floating in the sky.
Part 2/2
"What else? We'll let them build up their strength, then destroy them all in one go. Resurrect them, repeat the cycle three times, and those idiots will learn to behave," Chino replied calmly.
At this level of power, who still bothers with petty games of conquering Earth?
"Efficient and straightforward. I like it. So what's your plan for this planet? Leave it in Hell permanently?" Tony asked.
"For now, yes. Once I wrap things up in the Marvel Universe, I'll move it back to the solar system."
Chino intended to use this version of Earth as a mutant training ground. Unlike the Marvel Universe, most humans here had latent X-genes.
In the future, he could form a true X-Legion.
After saying this, Chino sighed heavily.
"I just wanted a lazy, carefree life. How did I end up ruling the world? And now a bunch of lunatics want to kill me. What bad luck."
Tony patted his shoulder sympathetically.
"Poor Demon King. Instead of ruling the world, maybe you should first deal with your woman. That little girl's about to cry."
Chino followed Tony's gaze.
He saw the Phoenix Force version of Jean (Dark Phoenix) holding a little girl while Jean Grey chased after them.
"Dark Phoenix! Give her back!"
"No! I want to raise her!"
"Waaah… Daddy… Mommy…"
Chino nearly blacked out. Was Dark Phoenix trying to kidnap a child?
Dark Phoenix ran up to Chino, proudly lifting the little girl in her arms.
"Chino, I want a different reward. I want to raise her!"
Chino helplessly took the little girl from her arms. The next second, Jean caught Dark Phoenix and began twisting her ear.
"Ow, ow, ow! Let go!"
"You still feel pain? I told you not to kidnap children! Who taught you this behavior!?" Jean scolded angrily.
Meanwhile, Chino looked at the delicate, doll-like little girl in his arms. She looked incredibly familiar.
The little girl blushed shyly and spoke softly. "Big brother, can you put me down?"
"What's your name, little one?"
Chino gently pinched her soft, chubby cheeks with interest.
"My name is Jean Grey-Summers," the little girl answered in a tiny voice.
Silence fell over the group. Chino, surprised, immediately put little Jean down.
No wonder she looked so familiar. Judging by her age—eight or nine—she was this world's version of Jean.
"Where did you find her?" Jean let go of Dark Phoenix's ear and asked speechlessly.
"Found her on the road," Dark Phoenix muttered while rubbing her ear.
After defeating the Scarlet Witch, she had stayed on this Earth. On her way to find Jean, she'd encountered a family caught in a landslide. The little girl had awakened her powers and stopped the disaster, but her parents abandoned her, calling her a monster.
So Dark Phoenix took her in.
"What now?" Chino was momentarily at a loss. Venom slithered out from within his body.
"What do you mean 'what now'? Obviously, we raise her ourselves and let her become your wife," Venom joked.
"I'm not a pervert," Chino replied flatly.
"Then give her to Professor X and let her grow up to marry someone else and have babies. You cool with that?"
Venom grinned knowingly. She knew Chino too well.
Chino frowned. Even though she was just an alternate version, the idea didn't sit well with him.
"…Fine. We'll raise her ourselves."
"Yay! Little Jean, call me big sister!"
Dark Phoenix excitedly ran over to the girl.
Little Jean hid behind Chino in fear.
"You scared her," Jean sighed and pinched her brow. They had just stepped out, and now they'd come back with a child—a younger version of herself, no less.
Quote of the Chapter:
"Sometimes fate doesn't ask what you want—it hands you a mirror and dares you to raise yourself."
