Beedrill had always known one thing: its species was often unloved by humans due to perceived weakness. However, Beedrill also knew that with enough effort and determination, it could carve out a future and prove its worth. After all, its father had done just that.
Now was the time to prove that Beedrill and its kind were not weak. It was time to showcase the abilities of its lifelong friend and master, Ash. Despite the unfavorable type matchups, Beedrill's Poison Sting could still lead to victory.
Looking at Ash, who shared a profound bond with it, Beedrill nodded, and Ash encouraged, "Go ahead, pierce Dragonite with your Poison Sting!"
"Buzz!"
With renewed determination, Beedrill darted towards Dragonite, flashing like a beam of light. Upon seeing this peculiar Beedrill charging toward his Dragonite, Will issued a command, "Use Wing Attack!"
"Roar!"
Dragonite flapped its wings vigorously, generating a small whirlwind. However, Mega Beedrill pressed through the gust, employing swift movements to close in on Dragonite. Will quickly recognized the unfolding situation.
"Dragonite! That Beedrill is using Agility! Use Flamethrower to limit its movement!"
"Roar!"
On cue, Dragonite unleashed a fiery blast in a wide arc. Surprisingly, instead of retreating from the flames, Beedrill pushed through using its Poison Sting, cutting through the fire directly toward Dragonite. The Poison Sting glimmered ominously in a purple hue as it approached.
Seeing this, Will took out a healing item from his pocket and called, "Dragonite, use Fire Punch!"
"Roar!"
Already synchronized with Will, Dragonite instinctively lunged forward, igniting its fist with flames to meet Mega Beedrill.
Boom!
The collision between the Poison Sting and Fire Punch created a shockwave, sending Mega Beedrill spiraling downward, while Dragonite recoiled, its body tinged with purple.
"Dragonite, here!"
Will tossed a healing item toward Dragonite, who quickly consumed it. However, to Will's shock, it had no effect. The poison persisted, and Dragonite remained in pain, its aura still tinged with darkness.
"Could it be..."
Realizing the severity of the situation, Will looked at Mega Beedrill, which had been restored to health by Ash's capsule.
"Your aim was to poison Dragonite..."
"Smart guess, but too bad there's no prize."
With that revelation, Ash dropped his facade. He patted Mega Beedrill, who locked its gaze on Dragonite, preparing for a finishing blow.
Noticing the ferocity in Mega Beedrill's eyes, Will understood that it was going for the kill. He discreetly signaled his other hidden Pokémon.
Charizard, lying in ambush, readied itself to strike. Meanwhile, Mega Houndoom and Mega Absol began channeling their energy, prepared to defend Ash. Hidden away, Gengar awaited Ash's signal to spring an attack on Will.
Thus, Ash and Will focused on each other, both ready to unleash their final strikes at a moment's notice.
Suddenly, amid the heightened tension, a familiar voice shattered the silence.
"Help! Ash, save me!"
The unexpected call startled everyone. Upon hearing Blue's desperate plea, Ash snapped his fingers.
"Gardevoir, please!"
"Gardevoir!" (Understood!)
In an instant, Gardevoir materialized on the battlefield and used Teleport to whisk Ash and his Pokémon away. Will stood momentarily stunned, unable to fathom that a masked figure would abandon the battle at the sound of a mere call for help.
However, he didn't realize that moments capable of forcing Blue to shout urgently were incredibly rare. Not only did he have Nidoqueen and Nidoqueen on standby, but Sabrina could also use her psychic abilities to assist them. Clearly, Blue and the rest were likely facing a severe threat, which prevented them from utilizing their powers—though Ash had prepared for such occasions all along.
While Will took stock of the situation, he too managed to breathe a sigh of relief. Today's battle had been unexpectedly intense.
The power of that masked individual was terrifying; he acknowledged his oversight, realizing that if this were a life-or-death struggle, he might have perished.
Pondering this, Will turned to Dragonite, which had recovered considerably but still bore signs of lingering toxin. He was grateful for the benefits of his healing powers, but the toxic effects had yet to fully dissipate.
"Such a formidable enemy… it seems prudent to allow Red to withdraw for now... that masked person…"
Looking at Dragonite, struggling under the effects of the poison, Will's expression darkened. He realized the myriad entanglements his plans had encountered. An unknown masked figure had thrown significant wrenches in his strategy.
With all these thoughts swirling in his mind, Will began to consider whether he should alter his approach.
