Chapter 451 - Chapter 451: Look How Awesome I Am?

Thor's bachelor party ended quickly.

Because Loki, that bastard, forced it to end.

When they left, Thor's face was dark. Noah's wasn't any better. Only Loki wore a satisfied smile, the kind that made it obvious how pleased he was with himself.

That expression annoyed Noah.

So Noah decided Loki should suffer a little.

In the following days, Loki's life became noticeably miserable. Under the excuse of "checking Loki's current combat level," Noah frequently dragged him into one-on-one fights.

It was brutal.

Loki was miserable. Truly miserable. He even started regretting provoking Noah in the first place.

But soon, he didn't have time to dwell on that.

A week later, Mordo sent news.

Kamar-Taj was fully prepared. They were ready to begin expelling the beast souls from the Blood-Cursed Werewolves.

That alone was good news.

What Mordo brought next was even better.

"They know this was your request," Mordo said. "I've already told them your idea. They're very willing to participate. They're also willing to help teach Dragonborn magic and record the data."

"Is that so?" Noah's eyes lit up. "That's the best news I've heard."

They were sitting in the courtyard of Kamar-Taj. Magicians moved back and forth, busy with preparations. Whenever they passed Noah and Mordo, they would pause to salute.

Mordo returned the greetings naturally as he spoke.

Nearby, Loki watched Nagini and the others with visible anticipation. The Blood-Cursed Werewolves were directly tied to his future.

"Speaking of which," Mordo said, propping his chin up, "aren't you going to do something?"

He looked at Noah.

"After all, it's magic you invented. You have the most say. With you participating, this should progress much faster."

"Let's not talk about that if we want to stay friends," Noah replied flatly, rolling his eyes. "What, should I do everything myself? Should I just monopolize all magic?"

"What vitality would the magic world have then?"

"Besides, I've already done enough. Without Dragonborn data, what exactly would others be recording?"

That was the truth.

Noah had already done more than enough.

Within the magical world, Noah's name was already nearly as famous as it was at Hogwarts. Almost every magician knew that the next Sorcerer Supreme would be Noah Finnel.

If this were a feudal society, someone in his position would probably live in constant fear.

Even in modern society, a person like that usually wouldn't end well.

But Noah was doing just fine.

In fact, his prestige kept rising.

That alone showed the Ancient One's tacit approval.

With the current Sorcerer Supreme silently allowing it, there was nothing left to argue.

Noah had seniority. He had strength. And his contributions to the magical world were immense.

Based on merit alone, no one could reasonably question him becoming Sorcerer Supreme.

Not to mention—

He had recently done something big.

"Oh, right," Mordo added casually. "After the Master gave me your abridged meditation method, I already brought it to several academies for testing."

"If everything goes well, it should spread to academies worldwide within a few years."

"Is that so?" Noah nodded. "That's great."

He didn't value the meditation method himself. But for apprentices still learning magic, it was something unimaginable.

If Noah had that back then—

Well.

It probably wouldn't have made him worse than he was now.

His own meditation method was far superior anyway.

Shaking his head, Noah planned to visit his teacher before returning to the Sanctum.

Like him, the Ancient One was studying the domain. It was the only other magic in this world that directly involved a magician's future path.

Unfortunately, Mordo stopped him.

"Noah, don't go," Mordo said. "The Master asked me to tell you not to look for her this year."

"She wants you to work harder too. Otherwise, it looks like you're just idle and experiencing ordinary human life."

"She's made some new discoveries. She'll probably be out in a few months. Maybe a year."

"…"

So she knew about his "ordinary human life" now?

Noah felt a little depressed.

He shook his head and stopped thinking about it.

It wasn't that he'd become lazy.

If anything, Noah was more diligent than ever.

Every night, once he entered the system space, he had eight times more time than others. He used it carefully. He reread magic books again and again, whether he'd already mastered them or not.

After reading, he studied the two gems.

The help they provided was immense. He needed to fully understand them.

Then came practical combat.

Honestly, his opponents had become increasingly abnormal.

Their skill levels matched his. Their combat experience was absurd. Some had special abilities that were downright irritating.

Noah couldn't gain much advantage over them.

At best, it was fifty-fifty.

But he didn't mind.

Combat experience grew. His control over his abilities improved. That was enough.

Sixty percent of those enemies were light-elemental beings, which helped him familiarize himself with light power. Even if the system simulated it using unknown forces, the effect was real.

As for domain research and integration?

The system handled that.

Noah received daily reports. The progress was excellent. At this rate, integration would be completed within a few years.

That speed was exaggerated.

Aside from the lack of light power and the slight difficulty of integrating time and space, everything else was perfect.

Noah had even thought about reporting the progress to the Ancient One.

Now, there was no point.

She was deeply immersed in research. One inspiration at this stage was worth more than a hundred reports.

After replying casually to Mordo, Noah decided to return to the Sanctum.

Loki stayed behind.

He wanted to observe Kamar-Taj's methods firsthand, as well as the records and results afterward.

Noah didn't care. He nodded once and left.

But just as he reached the teleportation circle, his phone rang.

After answering, Noah immediately changed direction.

He went to New York.

"…Hey, Noah, what do you think of my new base?"

"It's alright," Noah replied. "When did you start building it?"

They were standing beside a reservoir on the outskirts of New York. Noah looked at the newly built tower with a strange expression.

He genuinely hadn't known Tony had already built this.

Wasn't this guy always making movies?

When did he find the time to build a new Avengers Tower?

"Probably after the Battle of New York," Tony said with a grin. "When my old building got destroyed, I built this one."

"Is that so?" Noah rubbed his chin.

Wasn't Tony supposed to be dealing with Killian around then?

Noah shook his head and stopped thinking about it.

"How's your movie?" he asked. "Filming going well?"

"Wrapped up already. Editing now," Tony said proudly. "Should release this Christmas."

"Remember to come to the premiere."

"Alright," Noah nodded. "I'll go."

By Christmas, most things this year should be settled.

He'd have time for family and friends.

And he really should ask his girlfriend out.

Sometimes, Noah felt like he was single. Like when he'd been drinking with Thor recently, he'd subconsciously forgotten he even had a girlfriend.

That wasn't right.

He needed to be more proactive.

There was still time, though. No rush.

Following Tony inside, they soon arrived at his office. Jarvis even greeted Noah directly.

"Let me guess," Noah said, sitting down wherever. "You didn't call me here just to show off the building."

"Magic problem? Or are you almost done researching the Star Wars tech?"

Tony smiled and clapped his hands instead of answering.

A platform rose from the floor with a soft beep. A small figure emerged and looked at Noah curiously.

Noah froze.

"BD-1?" he said. "You actually made it?"

"Of course," Tony replied proudly. "A powerful companion droid."

"I heard you really like this little guy."

"Who told you that?" Noah frowned. "Thor? It must've been Thor. Loki hasn't left my place, and Wong hasn't mentioned you visiting."

"By the way," Noah added, "you didn't just make one, did you?"

"Of course not," Tony said. "You gave me too much tech. I can't master all of it, but I learned a lot."

"So?" Noah asked.

"So today's about showing you my results," Tony said. "Victor helped me build the factory. I think we can start shipping products."
