"Blessing? Are you… messing with me?" Brittany sat stiffly on a black stool, fidgeting with the empty water bottle in her hand as she watched Nathan's bare back while he prepared their breakfast. "You're not just trying to get under my skin then stab me in the back, are you?"
"C'mon. How many times have you asked the same question?" Nathan turned to her, a silver tray in hand. "I don't have a mind barrier up right now, so I shouldn't have to tell you for you to know that I am absolutely smitten with you, white wolf or not. Why would there be a need for me to lie to you? Here." He crossed the room and handed the tray to her. Brittany took it carefully and set it in her lap, the appetizing smell making her stomach rumble quietly. She could feel his eyes watching her as she stared down at the plate where two fresh sandwiches sat.
"What about you?"
"I'm good."
