Chapter 66 - Chapter 39: Yamcha vs. Man-Wolf

The Kamehameha and Turtle School's Kamehameha clashed, creating a powerful energy ball between them. Neither side gave way, and the blinding light emanating from it forced the spectators to close their eyes.

John did not use his full strength, as Tien Shinhan was not an enemy and could potentially be a friend. There was no need to kill him, so the energy released by John's Kamehameha was on par with the Kamehameha.

As the two attacks met, they stalemated, and it became a test of endurance.

Eventually, Tien Shinhan was the first to give in, and as his ki ran out, he fell from the sky.

John immediately sensed Tien Shinhan's condition and stopped his own Kamehameha. The energy ball between them exploded, sending out powerful shockwaves and emitting a bright light, similar to Tien Shinhan's Solar Flare, forcing everyone to close their eyes.

After a while, the shockwaves and light dissipated, and everyone turned their attention back to the arena, eager to see the outcome.

In the end, they saw Tien Shinhan lying motionless on the arena.

There was no miracle this time. Despite the host's countdown, Tien Shinhan failed to get up from the arena, and the battle between the Turtle School and the Crane School ended with John's victory, giving the Turtle School an early lead.

Chiaotzu quickly rushed to the arena and helped Tien Shinhan up. He noticed that Tien Shinhan's ki was extremely weak, as if he were about to die.

John took a Senzu Bean from his pocket and walked over to Tien Shinhan, putting the bean into his mouth.

Unconsciously, Tien Shinhan swallowed the Senzu Bean and suddenly opened his eyes, his energy fully restored.

Although Tien Shinhan didn't know what John had given him, he knew that John had saved him. In his previous condition, he might have died due to a lack of ki.

Seeing that Tien Shinhan was fine, John stood up and walked towards the contestant rest area, while Tien Shinhan followed him and asked, "Why did you save me? Aren't we enemies?"

"Are you a fool? Is the world only black and white? Who told you that if we don't get along, we're enemies? We have no grudges between us. Why must we fight to the death?" John said.

"If you feel indebted to me for saving your life, then live well and find an opportunity to repay me."

Seeing that Tien Shinhan was still concerned about this matter, John made this suggestion.

Since he had already been saved, there was no way he could commit suicide, so Tien Shinhan looked at John seriously and said, "Then it's settled. I owe you a life."

Seeing that the two had come to an agreement, Goku, Krilin, and Yamcha, who had been worried about another conflict, finally breathed a sigh of relief. Tien Shinhan's performance had earned their respect.

At this moment, the host's voice echoed through the arena once again, "Ladies and gentlemen, you have just witnessed an extremely exciting match. I must say that the disciples of the Turtle School and the Crane School have truly impressed us with their skills and provided a visually stunning experience."

"I know that everyone is eager for more, and so am I. The next match of the World Martial Arts Tournament is between another disciple of the Turtle School, Yamcha, and a powerful Man-Wolf contestant. They will soon take the stage and give us a new visual shock. Let's give them a warm welcome with our applause."

Hearing the host's voice and the enthusiastic cheers from the audience, Yamcha's blood boiled with excitement. He had been itching for a fight after watching John and Tien Shinhan's battle, and he immediately said to everyone, "It's my turn to take the stage. Watch my performance!"

Everyone cheered for Yamcha and headed to the sidelines to support him.

When the two contestants stepped onto the arena, the host noticed that the Man-Wolf contestant looked listless, as if he had no energy at all. Even before the match began, he sat on the arena, staring blankly at the audience.

Everyone was baffled, and the host, holding the microphone, asked the Man-Wolf contestant, "Man-Wolf, what's wrong? The match is about to start, why are you sitting on the arena looking so unmotivated?"

The Man-Wolf contestant seemed reluctant to speak, but then he seemed to remember something. He snatched the microphone from the host and shouted to the audience, "Jackie Chun, I know you're in the audience. I want to ask you, why didn't you come to the tournament this year?"

"Are you afraid that I'll defeat you? You coward, you weakling, come out and face me!"

The Man-Wolf's shout startled Master Roshi, who was watching from the audience. He had no idea when he had offended the Man-Wolf.

The Man-Wolf's shout also made it clear to everyone that his target for this tournament was Jackie Chun. However, he was surprised that Jackie Chun, the previous champion, had not participated in this tournament.

The host was not in a hurry to announce the start of the match. Instead, he was very interested in the Man-Wolf's reason for wanting to defeat Jackie Chun.

"So, Man-Wolf, why do you want to defeat Jackie Chun?" the host asked, fearing that the Man-Wolf might not want to answer. He then pointed to the nearby television broadcast and said, "This tournament is being broadcast worldwide. Even if Jackie Chun didn't come, I believe he is watching this tournament."

Hearing the host's words, the Man-Wolf began to angrily explain, "I had no grudge against him, but what did he do? In the final match of the last tournament, he destroyed the moon with an energy wave."

"We Man-Wolves are usually in wolf-headed human form, and we can only transform into human form when we see the full moon."

"But who would have thought that Jackie Chun would destroy the moon, directly taking away our chance to transform into human form?"

"Because of this, I can no longer date human girls. I must avenge this moon-destroying grudge."

The host never expected that the Man-Wolf's hatred for Jackie Chun was due to not being able to date human girls. So, the host looked at the Man-Wolf and suggested, "I think you can find a werewolf to date, right?"

"I don't need a furry girl!" the Man-Wolf shouted at the host.

The host was stunned by the Man-Wolf's loud voice and stood there in a daze for a while before regaining his composure. He then laughed and said, "Well, let's hope you can find Jackie Chun and avenge the destruction of the moon."
