Chapter 61 - Chapter 34: Flying Technique

And so, John stayed at Kame House for the second time, but this time, he had to pay for his meals. No more freeloading off Master Roshi!

After resting for a few days, John began his training plan, focusing on the flying technique.

The flying technique, while commonly used by Dragon Ball warriors in the later stages, was an incredibly impressive skill in the early stages. If you wanted to fly in the sky during this period, you either needed a plane, the Nimbus Cloud, or the flying technique.

Like the Dodon Ray, the flying technique was a signature move of the Crane School, just as the Kamehameha was the signature move of the Turtle School.

However, from John's perspective, the Kamehameha was indeed very powerful, but it lacked the flexibility of the Dodon Ray.

In the later stages, only Son Goku continued to use the Kamehameha, while Krilin invented his own Kienzan, and Yamcha developed the Sokidan.

To use the flying technique, the most crucial aspect was controlling the flow of energy within the body, and John was an expert in this area.

At the beginning of his training, John started attempting to control and regulate his internal energy on a high cliff on the island.

Given John's current strength, it only took him a day to be able to fly a few feet off the ground.

As time passed, John flew higher and higher, and eventually, without any guidance, he created his own flying technique.

Six months later, under the envious gaze of Krilin and Yamcha, John soared freely through the air.

Krilin, filled with admiration, exclaimed, "John is truly amazing. I can't believe he can use his energy to fly freely in the sky."

"I wonder when I'll be able to do that," Krilin added.

Yamcha said, "We just have to keep working hard. John has taught us the flying technique, and if we can't learn it, then it's our own fault for not having the talent."

With less than half a year left until the World Martial Arts Tournament, John's intense pressure pushed Krilin and Yamcha to the limits of their potential. Finally, just before leaving for the tournament venue, they mastered the flying technique.

Master Roshi called out from outside the house, "Hey, are you guys ready? Let's go! We need to catch the plane, and if we miss this one, the next one won't be for another week."

"Coming, coming!" Hearing Master Roshi's voice, everyone grabbed their luggage and headed out. John, Krilin, and Yamcha were all dressed in suits made by Launch.

Master Roshi smiled at Launch and said, "Launch, thank you for staying behind to take care of the house again."

"You guys, good luck!" Launch smiled and cheered them on. But just then, a gust of wind blew, causing Launch's hair to cover her nose. She sneezed, and her blue hair turned golden.

Seeing everyone packed and ready to go to the World Martial Arts Tournament, Golden Launch realized that they were planning to leave her behind again.

Golden Launch was not pleased and pulled out a submachine gun from who knows where, firing a few shots into the sky. "Are you trying to leave me behind again?" she asked angrily.

Everyone was startled by her sudden outburst. And so, the entire Kame House set off for the tournament venue on the island of Papaya.

The next day, at noon, they finally arrived at the tournament venue. After registering, Master Roshi asked the staff, "Excuse me, has a participant named Son Goku, with a long tail, registered yet?"

"Son Goku, do you mean the semi-finalist from the last tournament?" the staff member recalled who Son Goku was.

"Yes, yes, has he registered?"

"Sorry, I haven't seen him yet," the staff member replied apologetically.

"Is that so?" Just as Master Roshi was thinking about what might have happened to Goku, a voice suddenly came from the side.

"Look who it is! The cowardly turtle has finally come out of his shell!" A man with a crane hat, a sharp chin, and a monkey-like face approached, wearing a robe with a crane symbol. As soon as he saw Master Roshi, he began taunting him.

Master Roshi recognized his arch-rival, Master Shen, and immediately retorted, "Well, if it isn't the chicken! How dare you leave your chicken coop and come here? Aren't you afraid the eagle will catch and eat you?"

"You despicable turtle, I know that your Turtle School stole the show at the last tournament. This time, I've brought my disciples to stop you. I want the world to know that our Crane School is the number one martial arts school!" Master Shen confronted Master Roshi, shouting at him.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but even if your Crane School comes, they won't be a match for our Turtle School. You'll just have to follow in our footsteps and eat our dust!" Master Roshi replied without hesitation.

The two masters glared at each other, their eyes flashing with electricity, as if sparks were flying between them.

Their disciples ignored their masters' bickering and focused their attention on their respective opponents.

Krilin said to Master Roshi, "Master Mutaito, who is that guy? He seems to have a grudge against you."
