Hearing the question Dante's heart nearly leaped out of his chest as he wondered if the government had somehow learnt of his identity as a time traveler and had set this up.
Immediately he ruled that out as there was no possibility of that even happening. He had taken special care to ensure his identity remained hidden when he made those online posts.
"System are there others with the system out there?"
Asking in his mind he quickly received an answer.
[The system is only bound to one champion forever. There's no such thing as two champion for one system. Furthermore,I can't sense a shard on him so he is not blessed with a system.]
Now that he thought about it it made sense,as far as he could remember in the apocalypse there was nobody that even had a system not that he was sure if they would parade it around.
If all these were not the reason then it couldn't be that this guy just coincidentally guessed it right?
That would be too absurd!
Although it seemed like he had been thinking for quite a long time now, everything had just taken a split second all thanks to his enhanced mental capacity thus the student wasn't even aware of the various thoughts that had gone through Dante's mind.
Well there's was only one way to find out right?
"What makes you think I'm from the future? Speak! or else I wouldn't mind feeding the zombies myself!"
Hearing the threatening edge in Dante's voice the young man pushed up his glasses.
"Well I can tell you're wearing a sort of power armour of sorts and also the weapon you used to kill those zombies was just out of this world, I'm not sure the even military have developed this kind of weaponry—at least not country Zelda right now!"
Hum…that seems right. I should have thought about this in the first place.
From the explanation it turned out to be just a coincidental guess just like he imagined. This was all his fault though as in his eagerness to use his newly gotten gear he had forgotten to consider the reaction from others.
Regardless, he needed to give some false impression to clear whatever rubbish ideas this student was forming as he could see the shine in his eyes increasing again.
"Cough…cough.my uncle used to serve in the military,Special ops. So these are his stuff."
"But.."
Seeing the death glare on Dante's face the student promptly shut up. However the gleam in his eyes showed that he didn't believe it all. Not that Dante cared.
Throwing the students case out of his mind, Dante quickly did a quick scan of the whole stall. Since this place was a snack stall he expected it to be quite small but on the contrary it was pretty decent. There were no windows except for one next to the serving counter. That should probably be where the kid had probably watched him fighting earlier.
By now the pounding of the zombies had lessened since most of them had already wandered away when their prey couldn't be reached, while they were dumb the hunger in them drove them to find more prey. Despite that there were still some lingering outside ,about a dozen or more. He was thinking of how to leave this place since time was running out when a voice startled him.
"Oh I nearly forgot my name's Jason Mathers. What's your's?"
"Can you stop sneaking up on people?! Next time...huh?"
He had wanted to continue scolding the kid when he heard his name and he involuntarily paused as a certain memory rushed up to his mind.
This young man…..he seemed somewhat familiar.
"Bro you haven't told me your name yet."
Distracted he looked around before answering.
"Oh..me? I'm Dante."
"Nice to meet you, let's have each other's back eh? Say do you know what the hell is happening? When I saw all these monsters I thought I was hallucinating but haha… it really is happening. World War Z in real life!"
Hearing the enthusiastic tone he was speaking with Dante wondered why the young man seemingly wasn't panicking when he finally remembered where he knew this young man.
"Jason, your dad can't happen to be a soldier right?"
"Sorry pardon?"
"I said your dad can't be a soldier right?"
" My dad? Of course he is! In fact he is not just any soldier but rather a General. General Mathers, cool right?"
Seeing the shocked expression on Dante's face Jason felt smug.
I might not be as cool as you are but I have a cool dad!
Immediately he started rattling off about his father without a care in the world.
Dante on the other hand was truly shocked but for another reason entirely.
He knew General Mathers as the man would become a legendary figure and the Field marshall of country Zelda due to his strategic tactics in battling the zombies and mutant beasts in the future, currently he should have just become a General.
However, that was not the main reason for his fame, because despite his exemplary achievements he was often remembered as the father of the Envoy of flames.
Since time immemorial, whenever humanity was undergoing a crisis there would be a set of people who rose above the adversity becoming a symbol of hope for the others.
The same thing went with the apocalypse as a set of five people had swiftly risen up from the chaos and made a name for themselves with their own strength.
Known as the Legendary five each of them were individuals who had crazy special abilities and we're so strong that even A-class zombie Emperors weren't able to take a single blow from them!
One had to know that Dante had been nearly killed by a single D-ckass zombie king with one strike and that was even due to the fact that the monster wanted to toy with him. A single D-ckass zombie king was enough to decimate a small city talk less of an A-class Zombie Emperor!
Yet in front of the Legendary five they couldn't even withstand a single blow.
"Does that mean…."
At this point he was finally able to connect the dots and also the reason Jason had look
ed familiar to him.
He had just met one of the Legendary five!
