In embarrassment I quickly take my eyes off his door. However, instead of apology, apprehension slips out my lips, "When did he move out? How long has he stayed?" I asked.
Whereas, after a frown of doubt, Finn lets out a soft chuckle, "You were here longer than I was."
Just by a simple sentence, Finn reminds me about the fact that I am supposed to be the one who knows it better than he does, because I have been around here way longer than he does.
Of course… What was I thinking, asking him about it? How would Finn know the answer I am demanding? It is only his first day here… I really did sound rude, didn't I? Why didn't I just apologise instead of questioning Finn?
And thus, in order to reduce the damage, I apologise, "Finn, I am so sorry for that, I wasn't thinking straight…"
