I can sense it, that he is restraining some words that have sprang to his lips.
Clearly there must be a reason he asked me to sit with him… He has something to say to me, doesn't he? Perhaps I shall offer him a kind gesture after gaining one from him, shan't I?
And so, in order to return his favour, I choose to provide him a platform to voice out his concern, "Do you have something to say to me, sir?" I asked.
After a second of hesitation, that man eventually decides to unstuck his throat and set those words free. His eyes bend into two crescents while his lips curl into a tender smile. He says, "I just came to say hi, that's all."
'Just came to say hi'? Those sound like words used between an old friend… Are we? Are we actually friends?
In suspicion, another question slips out of my lips, "D-do I know you…?"
