Meanwhile, Anastasia couldn't concentrate at work. The paper in her bag kept replaying in her mind.
After work, she walked to a nearby phone booth. She dialed a number she hadn't used in months.
"Hello?" Santiago said, as his voice was filled with concern.
"It's me. Don't ask questions. Just listen. I think someone found me."
"Anastasia? Where are you? Is it Mason? Did anyone hurt you?"
"No. It's not Mason. But I think someone dangerous is close. I need to disappear again."
"Come home. I'll protect you."
"I can't. Not yet. I'm too scared to walk down home on my own, can you come meet me halfway way please?" Anastasia pleaded with a slightly shaky voice.
"Yes, I'm right on my way now... Just stay where you are." Santiago replied sharply, as the call came to an end.
Anastasia was still hiding behind the corner where she had made the call. Her hands were trembling, and her breath was shaky.
