A Day Earlier...
Mason pulled up to the back entrance of the quiet restaurant, the one where he usually met his private investigator. He walked briskly into the VIP section, his face unreadable.
"What's up? What have you found out?
.. Did you find out on her whereabouts?" Mason asked without sitting down, eyes scanning the table.
The investigator, a lean man with keen eyes and a serious face, opened a black folder and laid the contents on the table. "Sir, it's about something different, we haven't gotten anything about her.
We are able to get you something different and you need to see them... these files will explain everything."
Mason sat, took a deep breath, and started flipping through the documents one by one. As he read, his face changed from curiosity to concern.
"These are Dimitri Zubkuv's dirty movements, right?" he asked.
