All eyes were on Valerie as she walked in, her heels clicking softly against the polished floor of the boardroom.

She scanned the room briefly, locking eyes with both Mason and Nicholas before taking her seat beside Mason close to the head of the table.
"Good morning everyone," she said smoothly, her voice unwavering. "I am Valerie Benson, and I represent Mr. Dimitri Zubkov, the new owner of thirty percent shares in Harrington Tech Corporation."
Her words landed like a silent thunder. Nicholas felt a cold rush under his skin. Mason's face didn't change, but his mind began spinning.
'Dimitri? That bastard didn't tell me about this move. We had an understanding,' Nicholas thought, forcing his expression into a polite blank slate.
