"Alright, I didn't train properly yesterday because of Giovanni's situation, so I need to make up for yesterday's missed work."
After organizing his belongings, Eddie set out on his journey once again.
Of course, while Giovanni's presence hadn't actually affected his training yesterday, the level of wild Pokémon on Routes 16, 17, and 18 didn't seem particularly high.
Perhaps he had grown too powerful too quickly, and the difficulty scaling from different game versions couldn't keep pace with his rapid development.
In this region, there had been Pokémon ranging from level 25-30 before his rebirth, but now the levels had been directly increased by 10, making them level 35-40.
Unfortunately, except for Venusaur and Blastoise, the strength of Eddie's other Pokémon had either reached the peak of Peak level or had been promoted to Gym Leader level.
The experience gained from Pokémon below level 40 was like a drop in the ocean compared to their massive experience requirements.
Venusaur and Blastoise had only gained 1 level yesterday, reaching level 37 through accumulated experience. After all, they hadn't encountered many Pokémon above level 36, so Venusaur and Blastoise hadn't gained substantial experience.
Additionally, this area wasn't sparsely populated, and many other Trainers were wandering around. Eddie couldn't let Venusaur and Blastoise out in public, so they could only silently gain experience through the Exp. Share.
"My strength has reached a bottleneck. Unless I find new Pokémon to practice against, I should finish the nearby tasks and move on to the next location."
Having too little experience available for leveling was equivalent to a Trainer hitting a strength plateau. At times like this, one had to travel to places where stronger Pokémon lived to continue improving.
The reason Eddie hadn't left immediately was because he knew there were several tasks to complete in this area.
Now, because of the different game versions, he was encountering more situations than before, so he chose to proceed step by step.
There would always be unexpected discoveries, and he had just found something quite surprising.
The occurrence of this event meant he had something important to handle.
"Ding! The Pokémon Egg suddenly moved!"
Yes, the Pokémon Egg he had recently been thinking about—the one given to him by that wealthy group—was finally about to hatch.
The system's notification sound made Eddie stop in his tracks. He quickly retrieved the Pokémon Egg that he had just taken out and put away.
He swiftly put on the sunglasses he had prepared long ago. This time, he definitely wouldn't be blinded by the hatching light again.
The Pokémon Egg was shaking constantly, and pieces of eggshell were falling away.
Finally, just like when Gible had hatched previously, it suddenly emitted a brilliant white light.
Last time, Eddie had been directly blinded by this white flash. This time, wearing sunglasses, he smiled proudly as he watched the hatching Pokémon.
In his hand, he had already taken out his Pokédex and pointed it toward the newly hatched Pokémon.
Just to be safe, Eddie had prepared Eevee to prevent a situation like when Gible had given him an enthusiastic tackle.
If this Pokémon suddenly gave him a warm Tackle attack after being born, Eevee would stop it.
However, his precaution proved unnecessary, because the newly hatched Pokémon didn't give him an energetic embrace like Gible had. Instead, it slowly walked to Eddie's feet and gently tugged on his pant leg affectionately.
This Pokémon had a white body with light pink accents. Its body and legs made it appear as though it was wearing oversized clothing. Its blue hair resembled a bowl-shaped cap that was somewhat shaggy and seemed to cover most of its face.
Its hair was divided by two flat red horns positioned in the middle—a larger one facing forward and a smaller one pointing backward.
Although its eyes were hidden beneath its bowl-shaped hair, Eddie could see that it had a pair of red eyes when he looked at it from below.
"Excellent, that wealthy man didn't lie to me. This is indeed a rare Pokémon, and I'm very satisfied with this little one."
Eddie looked at this Pokémon, which was shy but still mustered the courage to tug at him, filled with pleasant surprise.
This was Ralts, a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokémon, and it was different from an ordinary Ralts. This was actually a Shiny Pokémon.
No wonder that wealthy man had been so confident that he could guess the missing type in Eddie's team. He had even provided an extremely rare Shiny Pokémon. It seemed he had truly prepared this gift for Eddie with genuine care.
Name: Ralts (Shiny)
Type: Psychic/Fairy
Ability: Synchronize (When a Pokémon with this ability is poisoned, paralyzed, or burned, the opponent will also suffer the same status condition) + Telepathy (A Pokémon with this ability will not be damaged by attacks from allies during battle)
Level: 10
Potential: Champion
Moves: Disarming Voice, Growl, Double Team, Confusion, Hypnosis
"Shiny Pokémon really do have two abilities, and both are quite useful depending on the situation."
"Synchronize is an ability that counters status condition attacks. If Ralts falls victim to a status condition, the opponent will also be affected. This ability is excellent."
"As for Telepathy, I don't have to worry about friendly fire during double battles or group battles. It's definitely a team battle ability."
"And this little one actually has Champion potential. I wonder if that wealthy man gave it to me with sincere intentions. Well, for the sake of this Ralts, if he encounters any problems in the future, I'll help him out a little."
Eddie picked up the shy little Pokémon and placed it on his shoulder.
Ralts are naturally timid and shy Pokémon, and wild Ralts rarely appear before humans.
However, this Ralts had been carried and hatched by Eddie, so it naturally felt a close bond with him.
The horns on its head could keenly sense emotions between Pokémon and humans. Right now, it could feel Eddie's satisfaction and joy regarding its presence, so it felt very comfortable around Eddie.
It sat on Eddie's shoulder, appearing slightly shy but clearly happy.
Even though it felt a bit awkward with Eevee perched on Eddie's head, it was unwilling to leave Eddie's shoulder.
"With an Eevee on my head and a Ralts on my shoulder, I'm practically becoming a living perch for these Pokémon."
Eddie said with a smile, though he wasn't dissatisfied at all. After all, these Pokémon were his good companions.
Besides, Ralts couldn't sit on his shoulder for very long. It would evolve into Kirlia at level 20, and its body would barely fit on his shoulder at that point.
However, it would evolve into Gardevoir at level 30, and then it really couldn't continue to rely on him like Eevee did.
Although Eddie wouldn't mind having Gardevoir, who resembled an elegant woman, staying close to him... ahem, no, that wouldn't be good for his image. He was a gentleman—how could he do such things in broad daylight! (It would be better at night or when others couldn't see.)
In any case, according to his current leveling speed, he could train this level 10 Ralts to become a level 30 Gardevoir within a single day, so the time it could rely on Eddie would only be today.
As for Eevee, although this little cutie would have a larger body after evolution, it could change back to Eevee at any time, so it could essentially always be lazy on Eddie's head.
