Third person POV
"Saan na tayo…?" Ormoc asked.
"Hindi ko alam…" replied Paulina, getting up while being groggy.
Both then looked around their surroundings, only to see that they are now in a different place.
"Welcome to our world, heroes," Josiah II said to them with greetings and hospitality.
Ormoc and Paulina then looked at him and his advisors.
"Wait, wha…?"
"Your world?"
Cas then came forward and said, "Yes, you two had been summoned to this world of ours to avert a crisis before it gets out of hand."
Ormoc and Paulina heard that and were stunned.
But they remembered something as a hint in their current situation: Basilio used to watch and binge-watch anime that depicted fantasy and isekai worlds, and they used to watch with him occasionally. Why occasionally? It's not that they are not interested with a narrow scope, but it was that they are just busy with their full-time jobs. So, remembering some of the elements of anime, Ormoc and Paulina looked at Josiah II directly.
"Yes, we accepted this calling, your Highness."
"We'll do our best to do what you needed us to do."
Josiah II then positively nodded. "Thank you, but first, you two needed to determine your abilities and train up to be heroes for your calling. However, we only have less than a month to avert this crisis from one of our enemies, so you two needed to train up hard and with pain."
Despite that, Ormoc and Paulina accepted it with determination. "Also, I'm Ormoc Valencia, and this is my older sister Paulina Valencia."
"Greetings to all of you," Paulina added positively and with friendliness., before grabbing her purse, which was medium-sized and in red color.
Ormoc the grabbed his backpack and wore it on his back.
"Greetings to you two as well," Josiah II responded back nicely. "Welcome to our world."
And shortly after, Ormoc and Paulina were led to a room, where a crystal ball was waiting to determine and bestow their abilities, by Cas and a few guards and mages. And after receiving instructions on how to use it, Ormoc and Paulina touched it together, and the crystal ball glowed bright. And then, moments later, it subsided, and Ormoc and Paulina's abilities were now determined and bestowed to be:
Ormoc – lightning magic as a lightning mage or swordsman
Paulina – earth magic and healing ability as an earth mage and a healer
After that, everyone in the room were stunned, and Ormoc and Paulina saw it and were astonished. And so, their abilities were determined, and they are now ready to embark and undergo an intensive training to be heroes. So, both were sent to a military camp south of Cinjutun. That particular military camp was known for its strict routines for trainees and aspirants of combat, and its current head and trainer, a strong warrior named Avgust Bălan, was very strict on those who break the rules.
And then, that morning before noon, Ormoc and Paulina, alongside 20 other aspirants to be soldiers and warriors, lined up in front of Avgust, who had dark red, messy hair, a muscled body, and blue eyes. Ormoc and Avgust were forced to wear regular, medieval, and light clothes for this, and their modern clothes were kept in their bags. Avgusts gave an introduction seriously to them and asked a question, "Are you all ready to fight for our country?"
All then responded, "Yes, sir!"
"I can't hear you…"
"YES, SIR!"
Ormoc and Paulina had to do that to prevent being berated by Avgust.
And so, an hour before lunch time, their training began with exercises in the form of push-ups and jogging while carrying buckets of water suspended on a long bamboo wood. Some struggled to keep up, prompting Avgust to berate them for being too weak, while others who had an easy time avoided it. Ormoc, being a former high-scoring student of PE back in his world, had an easy time, while Paulina was struggling to keep up the pace, earning low-leveled shouts from Avgust.
"Can't you do 5o times, ma'am?" Avgust asked sternly. "Do it better!"
Paulina did so. "Yes…sir…"
Ormoc looked at her and then returned to his training before Avgust would see him interrupting his training.
At lunch time, all of them had meals at the military camp's mess hall, where meals are balanced and regulated of their quantity to ensure that they had balanced meals and nutrition for every day training. This type of intensive training lasted for 16 days, with the routine being the same every day. Their daily schedule is more like this:
5 – 7 a.m. – wake up, exercise
7 – 8 a.m. – bath, breakfast
8 a.m. – 12 p.m. – training
12 – 1 p.m. – lunch time
1 – 6 p.m. – training, exercise
6 – 9 p.m. – bath, rest time, supper
9 p.m. – lights out until 5 the next morning
And during break and rest times, Ormoc and Paulina would go somewhere private and secluded to have some alone time for themselves, talking about various things and happening on those days and reflecting from their experiences of training to be heroes. Their conversations were detailed and full of self-reflection, like a painting of a masterpiece that had been painted for hours to achieve a beautiful picture.
