Ava stood on the balcony of the central spire, watching the glow spread across the domes below. From this height, Astra Haven looked complete in every way — vast, layered, breathing. The transit corridors shimmered faintly, the protective field rippled with quiet power, and beyond it all, the dying world glowed faint red from the unstable skies.
Five days had become one.
She could feel it in the air — a kind of sharp stillness, like the moment before a storm breaks.
"Status?" she asked, without turning.
Cream Puff's projection shimmered beside her, light blue and calm.
> "Final calibration of teleportation gates — ninety-eight percent complete. Atmospheric shield output at full stability. Estimated time until resonance surge — twenty-three hours, forty-one minutes."
Ava nodded slowly. "All civilian sectors ready?"
"Yes. Ninety nine percent of assigned inhabitants have been relocated."
