"Penny for your thoughts?" Ace asked.
Luna felt herself unfreeze and sighed, "Why are you saying it that way?"
Ace turned to her and leaned on the balcony railing. "In what way?"
"You seem to have made up your mind about something."
He looked at her directly, "You asked me in what way."
She nodded, "Yes." Her voice was barely audible; she did not know if she was ready for the answer he was about to give her.
"You think I can let you go?"
Luna swallowed at his words and said the first thing her mind could grasp, something that she thought had happened. "I thought you had."
He scoffed, "You don't know me, Luna. Letting you go is the same as taking off my skin."
Luna shook her head, his words made her feel as if she was short of breath,
"I really don't think you mean that. This may seem so secondary to you. I don't know how to take your words."
He chuckled, then seemed to look deadly scary, "I saw you first, and you think I will let you go. That will never happen, as long as I'm alive." Ace replied.
Luna felt jolted by his words, she had to snap this trance he was in, "What? How can you say that?"
Ace shrugged. "You're my muse."
"Find another muse."
"It doesn't work that way, Luna."
"You have Sienna."
"Who said she is my muse?"
"Use your last muse then."
"You are my first and only muse."
"No, not really."
"What makes you think that, Luna?"
"Sienna told us about, you know......….." she blushed painfully.
"What?" He seemed to be confused.
"You two...…Ummm.....you know......." Her face was blazing at this point.
He cocked his head, "Luna, if you want me to fucking understand, then say outright what you mean."
She cleared her throat. "You know what I mean."
"If I didn't find you fucking cute right now, I would......…."
He stopped himself, and Luna was too shocked, so she said it outright, not wanting to make it any awkward,
"You two had sex!"
Ace didn't seem to be fazed. "Sex is natural, You do know it happens between individuals, right?"
The way he said it made her feel very childish; maybe that was it, too. He was too mature for her. Then she slammed out of it. No, she was not the one at fault here; he was the one in the wrong.
"It is natural, but that changes in your situation."
Ace raised his eyebrow. "How does it differ in my situation, Luna?"
Was he seriously asking how that was different when he was in a very weird situation, so now she had to spell it out for him?
"But you have many......….."
"Many what?"
"Women."
"And?"
And? And? no wonder he was not going to stop at Sienna, nor her. He didn't feel satisfied with all the women he had.
"It's just greed at this point."
"So?"
Her jaw dropped at his response. He wanted her but did not care that their views were opposed as the East is far from West. "Wow, I don't even know how to respond."
"Well, think about it."
"No, I won't, that will never happen!"
"Trust me, Luna, you will."
This man did not know much about her. Oh, wait, maybe he did. He probably knew everything about her on file, but personal, he knew zilch.
Yet something tickled her mind with the way Ace said it with confidence. Curiosity was killing her, so she asked.
"Why are you so sure?"
"I am because I know that I will be in your dreams."
"You would think that you had powers of some sort."
"I don't need powers."
"And here I thought.........…"
She stopped herself. What the hell was she doing?
"Thought what?"
"Forget it."
Ace cocked his head, "How can I? When you have piqued my interest."
Luna hit herself mentally. Why had she been this loose? What was wrong with her? "I......."
"We don't have the whole night, Luna."
Change the subject, something, please, she begged her mind. "Oh yeah, shouldn't you go back inside?"
"I do." He drawled out.
"Let's go then." She added some urgency to her voice.
"Not until you tell me what you were going to say."
"I thought having Sienna would make you content."
He scoffed, "I took her in because she was willing, she is pretty enough."
If one would hear their conversation, they would think that they were talking about shopping for goods.
"You make it seem as if it's a transaction."
He smirked. "Because it is. She wants my attention, and I can use her in bed. It's a situation that works well for both parties."
She was at a loss of words, thankful that William was treating her right and his only girl, he would never do something like this to her.
