Chapter 312 - Chapter 312 - Plans for Novigrad.

[Chapter Size: 2500 Words.]

Third Person POV

Ellander.

...

...

A few kilometers from the city, still within the Ellander region, Ciri and Madara ended up spending a night inside the forest, beside a stream, in an enormous cabin created by Madara, obviously.

Yennefer was bathing at the temple when Madara arrived at the place, and he and Ciri began to fight frenetically, even though it was just a simple training session. Certainly, the priestesses passing through the area or having their attention drawn by the noise.

As soon as they saw the intense combat in the middle of the courtyard, they ran to Nenneke, saying that they were killing each other, due to the high-intensity combat that none of them had ever seen before or thought possible. After all, no gentleman or soldier in the city could move that way, which is why they were so frightened by that dance of sword strikes that Madara and Ciri always performed whenever they fought each other.

Nenneke appeared desperately a moment later, shouting, while they were in the middle of their dance. They stopped and looked at the mature woman with raised eyebrows; neither of them was tired or anything beyond the expression of someone whose game had been interrupted. Nenneke, on the other hand, was full of caution and astonishment.

Who would fight like that? They simply exchanged blows several times within the same second; while a knight, the kind of man most experienced in combat, still had to prepare himself to deliver the next strike, they struck each other constantly like those two, their arms moving in an inhuman manner.

Another ability that Ciri had developed, thanks to the Elder Blood, was not only adapting to witchers, but also making her body adapt to fighting with shinobi, and none other than the greatest among them all, without a doubt. After all, the strongest had to unite to fight him in the original, and Madara only lost because of betrayal. Madara would have handled Sasuke and Naruto better than Kaguya; of that, he himself was certain.

In any case, they talked to Nenneke and calmed her down; they also asked her to inform Yennefer that Madara was there and that they would not be sleeping at the temple that night; they would spend the night together somewhere else.

Nenneke merely watched as Ciri clung to Madara's back while he complained that she couldn't keep using her teleportation, but Ciri used the argument that she wanted to hug her husband after his absence, also remembering the old days when she was a little princess being protected.

Madara called her a brat, and she lightly bit his neck, while Nenneke simply watched them leap across the rooftops and disappear through the city, heading somewhere.

It was then that they settled near a river, about four kilometers from the temple, and spent the night.

Ciri complained that she was already missing him; Madara mocked her, saying that this was because she had made that agreement with the Djinn; now they had their souls marked and bound. They would be thinking of each other constantly. However, because of that, Madara ended up being affected as well, and he found himself thinking about her every single day.

Ciri seemed to realize it and laughed triumphantly.

"Why do you think I would simply forget you?" Madara said, mocking her, while she laughed loudly. This wife of his had chosen to bind him to her by the soul, out of pure insecurity.

"Now you won't forget me." She simply crossed her arms and stuck out her tongue at him.

Madara mocked her with his gaze, but even so, he pampered her throughout the entire night, alternating between sex, enjoying his wife's body, and quieter moments after their activities, while she clung to him in the middle of the bed.

She lay down on his chest, while he caressed her belly, where their child was growing.

"What do you plan to do now? Are you going north?" Ciri asked in the silence that felt nothing strange between the couple.

"I still have time. I need to look into a few things, but I want to increase my influence not only within the courts, but also outside of them. That's why I'm going to Novigrad. I want to create a force there, like the four gangs," Madara said, making Ciri look at him, surprised.

"Aren't those four gangs all criminals?"

"All of them are involved in illicit activities, some worse than others, of course," he declared. "But in a few years, the city will become dangerous for many people. The Eternal Fire is already taking root, and non-humans and sorceresses will be hunted and burned in public squares. All of it turned into a show for the filthy population of that city, thinking that all the problems in their lives are the fault of non-humans and sorceresses." Madara mocked.

It wasn't just the city guard that would be corrupted into hunting sorceresses in the name of the religion of the Eternal Fire; the population itself seemed to adore it.

"That makes me worry about Triss, she's there," Ciri murmured.

"Yes, that's why I intend to stay in Novigrad for some time. I will create a force in the shadows, even to control the city, and prevent what happened in that other world from happening again in this one." She didn't need to say anything more; Ciri understood perfectly.

"And about that demon?" Ciri asked carefully.

"I have no idea where he is, but I have an idea of how to lure him out. I just don't know how to kill him yet. At least, I'm not ready for that yet," Madara said.

He still needed to create the Reaper jutsu, which was not an easy task. Even so, he would fare much better than Tobirama. Not only because he knew the concepts, at least a little, and already knew what to look for, but because Madara, with his ability to accumulate information, could create perfect combinations and find solutions far more easily for his paths. He had in mind the knowledge of many sorcerers, in addition to his own talent for creating spells with it, although he did not manipulate Chaos energy, which made that path useless to him.

Therefore, it was easier to pass this knowledge on to Ciri or to Isabelle. Still, many of these concepts could be reused to create jutsus. That was why the Hiraishin and the Reaper would be created within six months, at most. The Hiraishin would still be a jutsu Madara would master more quickly; perhaps, within the next two months, he would already have the perfect concept for it, he just needed to create the fuuinjutsus and learn the space techniques, or so he hoped.

It was a good amount of time to keep training and influence Redania's internal politics, so that it would not cause so many problems in the future, not only for the kingdom itself, but for the northern realms in general. After all, even in Kaedwen, it had been influenced to attack non-humans almost a year earlier by the very concept of the Eternal Fire.

His plan was to destroy the religion.

In the end, Madara and Ciri spent the night in that place and returned to the temple at dawn. The first creature to appear was Eira, the unicorn not being in any other form than her original, who began to complain directly to Madara for not having taken her along.

Madara stayed with the animal for a while, trying to ease her frustration. Soon after, he spoke with Yennefer; both were having breakfast together, and she bombarded him with questions about what he had done in Aretuza, already knowing beforehand through Ciri's dreams.

Madara explained what had happened, and Yennefer was surprised. She was also impressed by the fact that Tissaia seemed so at ease with Madara, to the point of giving her opinion on concepts related to space, even after he had absorbed her knowledge and memories on the subject.

She also discussed a few things with him and even went so far as to ask Ciri's opinion, leaving the sorceress staring wide-eyed at the sleepyhead while the girl herself spoke with impressive command about magic and manipulation of Chaos. Seeing Yennefer's look, Ciri opened a mischievous smile.

"Well, as you can see," she said, pointing to her own head, "I have quite a lot of knowledge and experience. Remember that I could already teleport before receiving the knowledge of the sorceresses," she declared.

"Anyway, it's time to go. I'm going to check some of Vilgefortz's hideouts as well," Madara continued. "I want to know if anyone else knew about them, since by now some people must have gone looking for him, considering he's been missing for months."

He knew he wouldn't find anyone there; it would be too much of a coincidence. Still, he would find traces of other people entering. He wanted to see which hideouts were still safe or not. Some of them he would give to Isabella to use, and even as refuges for Ciri.

There were interesting laboratories; although his experiments involved young girls and his aim at the time was to obtain Ciri's power, there were some things he could take advantage of. By now, Sigismund Dijkstra should also have already seen some of his hideouts, as in the original work, and would probably have been disgusted, beginning to suspect even Philippa, the sorceress of the Redanian king's court.

Madara left the Temple of Melitele after that, handing Isabella's magic mirror to Ciri, in case she wanted to talk to her, and Ciri liked the idea.

Ciri asked him not to take too long to return; even though she was disappointed, there was nothing to be done, and she ended up accepting the fact that the temple would be her place for the coming months. All she could do was train and grow stronger.

Madara soon continued his journey northward, creating a few clones and splitting himself as they headed in different directions.

He went to Novigrad, entering Redania. Other clones headed toward the mountains that divided the continent, going to Vilgefortz's hideouts; some crossed the mountains to the other side of the continent, both to Lyria and to Kaedwen.

Others even renewed clones that had dispersed within the courts, not because anything had happened, but to pass on information from the last few days. Since Madara's clones, even though made of wood, could not transmit information in real time, it was necessary to pass the memories directly to the original when they were dispelled.

Madara arrived in Novigrad on the same day, as he made his way into the city.

Zoltan, who planned to come, had not returned to the city yet; it would take at least about three weeks to travel from Temeria to the western coast of Redania.

Madara would speak with the dwarf as soon as he arrived, but first he would take care of matters in this city, and he began to investigate Novigrad, searching for better information.

Whoreson Junior had been killed some time ago by the fungal disease that Madara had implanted in him, and there was at least one son of a bitch in this city.

He did not find Dijkstra, as he was not in the city, but he left a clear message that he would be staying there for some time, and that if he wanted to meet him, they could talk.

The man had not yet had his leg broken by Geralt, so they could form a fine partnership, just as he had suggested when Madara met him before leaving for Skellige.

The stories about the dragons were still circulating, and his absence made people question whether that Madara Uchiha from the war many years ago had gone to the dragons in the north of the city when they specifically wanted to speak with him.

In any case, Madara waited until nightfall and would begin to truly act in Novigrad. Unlike dealing with the child-kidnapping gangs in the capital of Cintra when he was six years old, he was far more powerful now. At that time, he perhaps had 3% of the system, whereas now he was eighteen years old and had 66%.

So he easily passed through all the sentinels at the main gang bases, found their leaders without difficulty, placed them under a genjutsu, and gathered vital information. He himself began to control them.

Not even Zoltan's dwarven gang or Dijkstra's information network escaped his grasp; he took control of the entire city in just a single night.

After all, the gangs were only the first part; he went to the Temple of the Eternal Fire. The High Priest was not there, but in the capital, wanting to speak with the king.

Even so, he had the current leader there, a kind of bishop, and placed him under his genjutsu. From that point on, things became interesting.

By the end of the night, he remembered something important: if he was not mistaken, the captain of the city guard was a shapeshifter, a doppler who had transformed into a human after finding the man dead, then assumed his life and lived well in the city. At least for now; in the coming years, he would be hunted, and Madara decided to intervene in that.

The captain was frightened when someone entered his room in the city guard's fortress. Madara captured him quickly and kidnapped him. When he woke up, he found himself tied up.

Madara removed his gag in the middle of a sewer and looked at him, the man staring back in fear. He didn't even have time to react before falling unconscious when someone had entered his room.

"Who are you?" the captain asked, dazed.

"Leave that for later. We're going to have a little conversation. I know you're not human, but I'm not here to hurt you," Madara began, leaving the man even more shocked.

The captain asked how he knew who he really was. Madara confirmed it after reading a bit of his mind and seeing that he truly was a transformed monster.

"I came to you because I want to talk a little about the future of this city," Madara said calmly. Novigrad would be a city under his control, for the good of those he knew, for the good of the people of Redania themselves. After all, if he were to intervene as the king of Cintra, many people would die in a war against the Eternal Fire, and he was certain that they would not only refuse to yield under the threat of war, clinging to that nonsense that their god would protect them, but would also condemn Madara as some kind of demon that had to be destroyed at all costs.
