Third Person POV
Skellige.
...
...
Finding the Bear-Men tribe was easy with that wizard having memories of contact with them, while there were also some clones who reported the place as they passed by, but would not interfere, since they were clones only for reconnaissance, with the original Madara Uchiha deciding where to act.
This tribe was not expecting any attack against them, but they were prepared to launch their assault at the wedding.
Totó quickly began to descend to a corner of the island, where several torches were raised around huts; although they were unlit because it was still daytime, there were also tunnels and caves within a rocky area where the tribe was located.
"Ciri, teleport us there," Madara requested, as she rose, grabbing both him and the vampire in her hands. A glow appeared at that moment, as they vanished.
The men in that group did not even notice the danger approaching. They did not really know Madara Uchiha, as they were very isolated and had almost never heard that name.
They heard absurd things here and there about the continent and the battle that had happened, but none of them truly believed that any of it could be real. They only went out to trade when they needed some resources, or to perform services when people with good money sought them out.
What had happened a few days earlier was that a wizard came to hire them for a very peculiar job. His proposal was: they would earn a lot of gold as long as they launched a joint attack at the wedding of a foreigner who had come to Skellige in recent days — without really knowing who he was — and, in addition to the gold, they would have the chance to kill King Bran and secure a good position on the island afterward.
It would be simple, since they lived in isolation and no one gave them real consideration, being prejudiced against them. To them, it seemed like a good chance for revenge. Thus, they prepared the day before to infiltrate among the guests, with the help of the same wizard who had hired them. They only needed to send their special liquid to be placed in the banquet wine, and they would transform into bears in the middle of it.
Everything seemed normal at that moment, as the wagons were already being prepared to be loaded onto the main road, where a contact would pick up the barrels with the special liquid to take them to the castle and mix it with the wine, allowing them to transform.
What they did not expect was that those they intended to harm were teleporting right into the middle of them in the next moment.
A glow then appeared, drawing the attention of all the men, who immediately turned toward the strange manifestation in the middle of their camp.
Three people emerged from that glow...
"What is this? Sorcerers?!" someone exclaimed.
Madara analyzed the group before him. All the men were quite muscular, more so than was common in Skellige, wearing primitive clothes. In the center near them, they were carrying medium-sized barrels toward the wagons.
There were women and children in the huts, all wearing equally primitive clothing and looking at him in surprise.
"Who are you?" said a grumpy man, approaching as he grabbed an axe and advanced aggressively.
Before he could make any move, Madara threw a kunai, striking him in the arm and hitting his joint. The man roared in pain as his skin was easily pierced by the blade, which hit his artery, robbing him of the arm's movement and making him drop the axe, which fell to the ground. Everyone around went on alert but remained cautious.
"I'm going to be very straightforward here." Madara took a step forward. "We know about your plans for the wedding that will take place at the castle... and we are here to stop you," he said calmly.
"Who are you to attack one of ours?!" one of the men roared like a wild animal.
"You can't say you didn't try," Ciri said before teleporting and appearing in front of one of them, slashing him and removing his head.
Madara also advanced, breaking the arm of the first one who saw him when he tried to launch an attack as soon as everyone began to run toward them with the intent to kill. The man saw his arm bend in an unnatural way and didn't even have time to react before Madara took his own axe and easily beheaded him, already moving on to the next.
Quickly, everything turned into chaos. Eleanor didn't stay still either and leapt forward with her vampire abilities, slashing her enemies as her claws grew.
There were at least two hundred adult men in that tribe, and chaos spread among them. The warriors began to die one by one, easily, in the face of those three — who didn't seem human.
Some began drinking a liquid, and bears began to appear, roaring and charging toward them. Although Eleanor found it a bit more difficult, it made no difference to Madara and Ciri, who continued to cut them down like livestock in a slaughterhouse.
The others did not retreat when turning into bears despite the disadvantage; they felt no fear, only hurling themselves into battle.
However, those men who were watching from a distance more soberly began to grow frightened for the first time. They themselves were about to transform into bears, but the ground was already covered in blood, which spread everywhere, mingling with the screams of pain and bestial roars that echoed through the area, with the three killing them as if they were no challenge at all.
In little time, most of the tribe had been exterminated. They only stopped when they saw that everyone was retreating without anyone attacking anymore — more than 150 of them were dead.
Women screamed, children cried, as a bloodbath filled the scene, with more than a hundred bodies lying on the ground. The dead bears began to transform back into humans.
"What... what are you?" said a man, no longer arrogant, only with a trembling gaze before all those mutilated bodies. Most were dismembered; some still alive, but without limbs or with their necks cut, they were agonizing as they died and no one could save them.
Terror was etched on every face as their lives began to wither away.
"We still need them for the wedding, right?" Ciri asked Madara, since they wanted Vilgefortz to think he had the situation under control before receiving the attack.
"Leave this to me." Madara's eyes began to change, transforming into the Sharingan. He hadn't even needed to use it during the fight, but the three tomoe spun rapidly until they reached the Mangekyō, linking his eyes and invading the minds of the entire crowd.
Even though they were a tribe of men who could transform into bears, they were not dealing with an ordinary person. Madara began controlling them one by one, needing only a single glance. His eyes kept spinning, and a moment later, the screams and fear vanished.
Everyone now had different expressions.
"Are you controlling all of them?" Eleanor stammered, but Madara merely shrugged.
"It was easy when they were all afraid of us at this moment; their minds were fragile," Madara said, while quickly issuing a command to everyone.
Madara created a few clones and ordered them to search all the caves, while the men were already starting to move, picking up the fallen bodies and even killing those still agonizing, to free them from their suffering, and beginning to gather them in a corner to burn them.
Ciri and Eleanor just watched as they left the blood-soaked area.
"This is really frightening," Eleanor murmured, casting a glance at Ciri as if to ask whether the girl was okay with knowing that her husband was a kind of monster, able to control the entire tribe by himself.
The girl merely shrugged, already familiar with Madara's abilities and trusting his judgment with her life.
"I'm not proud of this... but it's necessary," Madara replied to Eleanor's concerns, while the vampire did nothing more than nod and continue watching the scene.
The clones scoured everything, while the men, after beginning to burn the bodies of their dead companions, returned to work — now in a much smaller number — yet still loading the piles of liquid back onto the wagons to deliver to the contact.
He had not spared the wizard, as he was no longer necessary after Madara had seen his memories. Vilgefortz would not worry much more about him after the last contact and would be keeping watch in other places.
However, it was necessary for the liquid to reach the castle to find out who else was involved in this scheme against him.
The people who were part of this did not seem to have any idea who Madara Uchiha was, and merely hearing about him made them think his feats were unbelievable... since they would never have conspired against him if they knew his abilities — but that no longer mattered.
The clones later returned with a letter, while Madara read the documents.
"So here is the letter. They also received a shipment of noble clothes to wear at the wedding banquet. They are all stored inside the caves..." one clone said.
"No surprise, I doubt they could get in wearing their current clothes..." the other clone scoffed, after all, everyone wearing proper attire was better than wearing primitive clothes made of animal leather. Since they had hired the tribe, they had ensured the group was ready and prepared.
"One more thing," a clone said before disappearing. Madara received his memories and nodded. He whistled toward the sky, calling Totó. The griffin began to descend at the sound.
"Wait for me. I'm going to take care of something," Madara said, entering one of the caves and dispelling the other clone as well.
He quickly advanced, running through them until he found a small open area inside, where a fallen bear lay badly wounded — a bear his clones had easily brought down.
The animal began to shrink in size until it became an old but muscular man, breathing with difficulty.
Madara paused, observing him before taking the next step. "So you're the leader of the Bear-Men tribe?" Madara asked coldly, while the man stared at him.
"You... you already left me here to die and went away... What do you want back?" he said, not knowing he had faced a clone and not the real Madara.
"Well, I'm not going to explain. But, in any case, I'm here to finish you off. Did you really think you could show up at my wedding and turn it into chaos, with you and your little pets transforming into those furballs? This is your end, and now your tribe is in misery..."
Madara's red eyes gleamed, and he quickly pierced into the mind of the man staring at him, who offered no resistance. He searched his memories in seconds.
The man had been inside the cave when the chaos began, but when he came out, the fight was already over. He was caught off guard by one of the clones and ended up wounded, transforming into a bear to fight. But he stood no chance against the wooden clone.
The leader never thought the job that wizard had offered him for gold would result in such chaos; he didn't even know that most of the tribe's warriors were dead now.
Madara simply grabbed him by the collar, lifted him up, and without hesitation, broke his neck. The crack echoed through the cave. He dropped the body a moment later and advanced outside.
As soon as he stepped out, Madara felt something strange. A storm seemed to be forming at that moment — which was unusual, since the sky had been clear all day while they searched the hideouts.
"Madara! Something's happening!" Ciri shouted from the top of a cliff above him before teleporting next to him, pointing upward.
Madara looked at the sky, noticing the wind beginning to swirl unnaturally. His eyes narrowed. That storm was not natural, as the sky grew darker and darker.
'What's going on?' he thought.
At the same time, in another part of the island, a certain druid immediately lost the color in his face upon seeing it forming in the sky.
"No... it can't be!" Mousesack cried out in despair, understanding what it meant.
Someone had laid their hands on the mask.
