Chapter 314 - Chapter 314: The Sun-Moon Continent

Chapter 314: The Sun-Moon Continent

Guided by the mysterious pull, Yang Potian continued flying for two more days, finally sensing a different kind of energy in the atmosphere. It wasn't just the aura of powerful spirit beasts—it was also the unmistakable presence of human activity, along with a blend of various emotions.

Encouraged, Yang Potian continued onward, convinced that the Sun-Moon Continent was now within reach. After another day of travel, the energy around him grew stronger until a small dark spot appeared in the distance, gradually expanding. Eventually, he reached a stretch of coastline and knew he had finally arrived on the Sun-Moon Continent.

Yang Potian flew over the coastline and into a bustling city nearby. The city was vibrant, filled with people who appeared generally content. Unlike the average citizens of the Douluo Continent, the people here seemed to enjoy a lifestyle comparable to those in Wuhun City, judging by the smiles on their faces.

Unexpectedly, the language and script of the Sun-Moon Continent were identical to those on the Douluo Continent, eliminating any communication barriers. He also noticed that the people of the Sun-Moon Continent had a remarkable focus on soul tools. Soul tool shops were everywhere, offering a far greater selection than the small-time peddlers like Flender back on Douluo.

The types of soul tools available here were incredibly diverse. Beyond those meant for combat, there were many soul tools with unique shapes and uses. Combat tools alone included offensive and defensive options of every kind, while storage soul tools offered significantly more space than their Douluo counterparts and were also sold at much lower prices.

After a few days of exploring the Sun-Moon Continent's soul tool technology, Yang Potian gained a solid understanding of it. Here, people valued soul tools over traditional spirit cultivation, leading to the emergence of a new profession: the soul engineer. Soul engineers held such a high status on the Sun-Moon Continent that they often surpassed spirit masters in influence.

Yang Potian also observed that, because of the focus on soul engineers over combat spirit masters, the spirit beast population on the Sun-Moon Continent was thriving. High-level spirit beasts were more abundant here than on the Douluo Continent. Perhaps due to the deterrent power of soul tool technology, these advanced spirit beasts hid deeper in the wilderness.

He then entered the largest soul tool shop in the city and approached a store attendant. "Excuse me," he said, "could you ask your boss to come out? I have a large business deal to discuss."

Seeing Yang Potian's distinguished presence, the attendant quickly fetched the shop owner, a middle-aged man of about forty with a spirit power level of fifty-four, indicating he was a capable soul engineer.

The shop owner greeted him with a polite smile. "I hear you're interested in making a large purchase. May I ask what kind of soul tools you're looking for?"

Yang Potian glanced around the shop and replied, "I'd like to buy every soul tool in your store."

The shop owner's face darkened, thinking Yang Potian might be here to cause trouble. "Sir, you must be joking. This is the largest soul tool shop in the city, with over a thousand items worth millions of Sun-Moon coins."

Ignoring the shop owner's reaction, Yang Potian calmly lifted his hand, pulling a massive chunk of metal from his storage tool. It was a cubic meter of Deep Sea Heavy Silver, weighing thousands of kilograms.

On the Douluo Continent, Deep Sea Heavy Silver wasn't especially valuable, prized mainly by blacksmiths. But here on the Sun-Moon Continent, where rare metals were critical for soul tool manufacturing, it was a treasure beyond price.

The shop owner gaped at the giant block of silver, his jaw dropping in astonishment. "This… this is Deep Sea Heavy Silver—a priceless treasure!"

Yang Potian asked, "Is this enough to buy everything in your store?"

The shop owner swallowed hard. "Yes, absolutely. But may I examine the Deep Sea Heavy Silver, just to be sure?"

Without hesitation, Yang Potian set the enormous block on the ground, causing the floor to shake.

Yang Potian wasn't particularly interested in studying soul tools himself, nor did he have the time to do so. He planned to buy a large supply, along with some research materials, and later establish a soul tool research division at Tianxing Academy. With everything in place, he could kickstart their study of soul tools in one go.

After confirming the metal's authenticity, the shop owner happily completed the transaction, and Yang Potian took every soul tool in the shop. Conveniently, he found several large storage soul tools among them, ideal for transporting the equipment and keeping his inventory inconspicuous.

Yang Potian moved on to the next city, continuing his spree of purchases. With his abundant resources, he didn't mind overspending. His payments mostly consisted of precious metals and millennium-old herbs he'd amassed over the years—more than enough to fund an entire empire.

Once he acquired a sufficient quantity of soul tools, Yang Potian focused on his primary objectives. His trip to the Sun-Moon Continent had two main purposes. First, he wanted to acquire knowledge, tools, and possibly even talented instructors for soul tool research. With instructors, resources, samples, and equipment, Tianxing Academy's study of soul tools would be off to an excellent start.

His second goal was to acquire his eighth spirit ring. He held very high expectations for this ring, even more than for his ninth water-attribute ring.

The target for Yang Potian's eighth ring was none other than the Evil Emperor, one of the top ten most fearsome beasts after ten thousand years. The Evil Emperor was a colossal eyeball creature, known as the Evil-Eyed Tyrant Master, measuring over three hundred meters in size. It possessed eighty-one massive tentacles, each extending over five hundred meters, and its cultivation level was close to 800,000 years.

In terms of sheer power, the Evil Emperor was nearly on par with the Black Dragon King, Di Tian. Its mental attributes, in particular, made it an extremely formidable foe.
