After they left their room, both of them with so much on their mind, the morning passed slower than usual.
Lynn sat at the dining table, her fingers brushing absently against the rim of her teacup. The aroma of chamomile filled the air, it was soft and calming, but her nerves refused to settle down. Across from her, Alex sat with his tablet propped up, pretending to read through a set of documents. he looked completely focused on whatever he was reading and she didn't want to interuppt him.
He hadn't said much since they left their room and came down for breakfast. Not a word about the call, not a hint of what had put that steel in his voice earlier. he had simply gotten ready for work, even though he hadn't been to work in a few days.
