"You guys…"

A flicker of red light flashed in Wanda's palm, but she quickly forced down her anger and squeezed out a reluctant smile.

"This isn't something you need to worry about."

With that, she turned to leave the private room, but a man in a flashy floral suit stepped in to block her path.

He didn't mock her like the others. Instead, he pointed toward the window and spoke with an exaggerated gentlemanly expression.

"Wanda, it's raining outside. Hard to get a taxi right now. How about I drive you home?"

"No need."

Wanda rejected him on the spot.

This male classmate came from a wealthy family. Back in school, he was one of the bullies—always leading the crowd in calling her a freak.

Now he looked like he was offering her a ride, but she knew full well his real intention was to get her into bed. She might be innocent, but she wasn't stupid.

"Wanda, you always reject people's kindness. That's why it's hard for you to fit in.

People who can't integrate into a group are called freaks. If you want to get rid of that label, you need to learn to change.

Why don't you come to my place? I can teach you how to blend in better. I'm very good at that kind of thing."

The floral-suit classmate reached out to stroke Wanda's hair, sparks practically shooting from his eyes as if he believed he was irresistibly charming.

The veins on Wanda's forehead were about to burst.

She really wanted to use her powers to teach these idiots a lesson—but she held back.

If she caused a scene, her family's burden would only grow heavier.

Her mother had already struggled enough, raising her and her brother alone. She had finally remarried a good stepfather, only for him to die in an accident shortly after Wanda's little sister was born.

Her brother was unreliable, always stealing things and getting into trouble with the police. He didn't even have a job.

Her little sister was now in middle school, going through a rebellious phase, and the household expenses were getting bigger.

If Wanda exposed her powers and lost her job, everything would fall back onto her mother again.

Endure it. This kind of thing wasn't new. As long as she kept rejecting them, they wouldn't really do anything to her. At most they'd throw a few more insults before letting her leave.

She should've never listened to Hailey and come to this stupid reunion.

She turned to look at Hailey sitting inside. Hailey guiltily lowered her head.

Hailey was one of the few classmates who still had a decent relationship with her. Wanda never attended reunions, but Hailey had begged her repeatedly this time, so she grudgingly came.

Now she understood—Hailey had brought her here just to redirect everyone's mockery.

Because if Wanda didn't come, Hailey would've been the one everyone ridiculed.

"These idiots really don't know what's good for them."

High above the restaurant, George let out a disdainful chuckle.

When he hadn't found Wanda at school, he had used magic to locate her, followed the trail here, and witnessed everything happening inside the private room below.

Besides her mutant powers, Wanda also possessed the power of Chaos. And Chaos had another amusing nickname: "Whatever I Think, So Shall It Be."

Meaning, if Wanda could perfectly control her Chaos Power, then whatever she wished for would become reality. However she wanted the world to be, that's how it would become.

Chaos could easily rewrite reality.

In one universe, a single sentence from Wanda—"There shouldn't be mutants in this world."—wiped out 98% of the mutant population.

So even though Wanda was suppressing her powers now, if she kept thinking "These classmates should just die," then sooner or later, each of them might really die in bizarre "accidents."

As one of the three primordial forces, a multiversal-level power, Chaos was no joke.

Fortunately, Wanda hadn't fully mastered it yet, and she was kind-hearted without extreme thoughts—otherwise things would've already gone sideways.

"Well then… may as well build some goodwill."

George teleported straight to the doorway of the private room. His clothes instantly shifted into a custom suit identical to Iron Man Tony's, complete with a luxury watch and accessories from the same brand.

Cliché or not, rescuing a damsel in distress was undeniably effective at raising a girl's favorability.

If she was particularly romantic and inexperienced in love, she might even throw herself into your arms on the spot.

Of course—that only worked if you weren't ugly. Otherwise, it wouldn't be "offering herself," but more like "see you in the next life."

He needed to devour the Chaos Force within Wanda, just like he did with Jean. The more she trusted him, the less resistance there would be, and the easier it would be to consume it.

Given his personality, even without this opportunity, he would've created some scenario to earn her trust anyway.

It just happened that today, hero saves beauty was the most convenient method.

"Excuse me."

He pushed open the door and strode confidently toward the bewildered Wanda, taking her delicate hand and speaking gently:

"I told you—it was raining, so I drove you here. But you insisted on taking a taxi by yourself. I was just worried that arriving with me might make your classmates feel awkward.

But clearly, they're not the petty type."

Before Wanda could speak, George turned to the floral-suit classmate and extended his hand.

"Nice to meet you. I'm George, Wanda's boyfriend."

Wanda had been about to deny it, but when she heard the name George, she suddenly remembered her brother mentioning over the phone that someone named George would be picking her up. In a flash, she understood he was helping her out.

The floral-suit classmate looked George up and down, then his pupils shrank sharply. His expression instantly turned respectful and friendly.

"H-hello, I'm Bob, Wanda's classmate."

His family had some money, so he had some sense of status.

And this supposed boyfriend of Wanda? From head to toe, nothing he wore was ordinary. Just that watch alone was worth more than Bob's most expensive sports car.

This man was definitely someone with a powerful background—far beyond anything Bob could afford to offend.

The other classmates sitting around also shifted in expression—some doubtful, some envious, some jealous, some downright seething.

They refused to believe that freak Wanda had landed such a rich and handsome boyfriend.

"Ah!"

Just as Bob shook hands with George, he suddenly let out a scream.

He yanked his hand back reflexively—but he moved so fast he lost balance, toppling backward onto the table behind him.

The table flipped completely, sending wine bottles and dishes flying through the air—landing with perfect accuracy onto the heads of every seated classmate.

"Sorry. I've been working out lately, got a bit too strong. Didn't know my own strength."

George tossed out the excuse casually, then turned back to Wanda with a smile.

"Let's go. Your brother's waiting at home."

"Thank you!"

Wanda looked at her drenched, embarrassed classmates and burst out laughing with a "pfft!". She took the initiative to grab George's hand and walked out of the room with him.
