Chapter 158 - Plans Move Along (3)

After several hours, Night Silver had finished handling the issues of the day, and lay in her bed, sipping a rather powerful wine made from dragon's blood and a combination of other ingredients, like Dragon Fruit and Mangos. It wasn't a drink for the faint of heart, and it had a rather powerful effect on anyone who drank it.

"What do you think, Brighty? Is Tsa really that stupid?" She sipped more, and gently swirled the wine around.

Brightness dragon lord, her husband, sighed downing his own portion of wine. It didn't do anything other than recover some of his stamina. "I have the benefit of learning how people comprehend information. From what I've seen, and heard, this will not go nearly as well as my idiot younger brother thinks."

"You're right, all of those nations are likely to undergo their own individual civil wars before they'd ever dare to pressure us here. Even if they weren't mostly created by my order." She sighed, and then winced. "I suppose we're going to have another major event once more. This is a lesson Tsa will have to learn on his own… And what do you two think?"

The pair of lovers, and former aides to Tsa, twitched once the attention had been moved toward them. The young man froze.

"Mother, I had a feeling that the propaganda Tsa was trying to spread would have a drastically different effect. But I wanted to bring it here and warn of the plan anyway, in case I was wrong."

"Good child, you've done well." Another swirl of her wine, as a sigh finally escaped the young man's lips. "Hmm? You wish to ask something young man?"

"If it's not too much… Could I ask about the treatment of, those, people. Tsa said some rather odd things about it. And I just wanted to know how much he lied to me, and the people."

"Oh? That? You see the man over there, he's one of the offspring from those vile creations. And his actions have proven to be on the right vein. Though, not everyone has been so smart, and are damned to suffer as a result. I'd like nothing more than to set them free, but once they declare their intent to kill me, and my people, their chance of a good future is also permanently removed." She explained. "However, I keep them alive so that there may come a day that their spawn might be saved, thus saving their parents, even if it's just in some small way. Do you think I'm wrong for this?"

The young man shook his head as he answered. "No, Mother, you give everyone a chance to live a good life, and grow up with a family. Then tell them what they actually are, giving them the choice. If anything it's benevolent that you'd even give them a chance at all." He was almost brought to tears, knowing that there were unworthy ones who'd turned their back on her after receiving the best. "I'm satisfied with your answer, and honored you'd bless me with such knowledge. I am but a humble human man."

"Oh, yeah, that reminds me. You aren't Nadairian, so you really should marry another family here in Tus Nadair. Hmm-"

"Mother, I shall prepare a list of families open to the idea at once."

"Good, why don't you go ahead and take charge of them for the time being. Get them all set up."

"Yes."

The three individuals left Night Silver's home through the teleportation circle.

"Sil, I have a request to make of you."

"Hmm? You can ask me anything, my darling Brighty."

"Would you allow me to start a nation on my own as well? I'll call it the Dragon Kingdom."

Night Silver's eyes narrowed, and she downed the rest of her glass. "So, you want to move ahead with the plan then, even though it's still a little early?"

"Yes, with another nation that has a dragon lord's backing, rising up would have a chilling effect on Tsa's antics."

"It would mean the two of us could no longer continue having children. Are you sure you want that, because, I'm not going to stop having babies even without you here."

"I know, you've made it clear decades ago, just how much you love having babies. And with the way medicine, and medical treatments in general are today, it's barely an inconvenience for any woman here, and for Nadairians it doesn't even count as that, let alone for you who always rears at minimum twins." Brighty chuckled, then sighed. "I'm afraid I can't keep up with it much longer. And I don't want to be the reason why you can't do what you love. Plus, that nation really should be formed as soon as possible anyway, isn't that right?"

She smiled, placing a hand on her midriff. "You're right, I do enjoy this feeling, the creation of life from within, it's a thrilling concept. One I'd never have been able to experience in the old world." She went quiet, then turned to her man, Brighty. "Then, after this time around, I will no longer call upon you to satisfy my desires. However, no matter how far apart we are-"

"We will always be one, love."

"Good. Then we should move forward with that plan. There's a young woman from among the spawns, she's reached maturity, and about time to see what her response will be. Perhaps you could take her to be your queen." She giggled, teasing Brighty, but also serious about it.

"That would help to ensure the bloodline remains strong. And I doubt that any children born of our union would ever be as capable as the ones that you, and I made together."

"I wonder what Tsa will do once he sees that you've also left Tus Nadair. Perhaps he'll try to court me again."

"Surely not, he may be stupid, but that's got to be a bridge too far, right?"

"No, I think it's possible. He has always held secret feelings for me. Issanth has said as much on multiple occasions. So, I doubt he would refrain from it entirely. Though he'll probably do it in a way that's meant to stop the "horrible" treatment of the Evil Eight Greed Kings spawn."

"Yeah, he might actually be that short sighted. That would never work."

"Seriously, he never even bothered to learn how to take human form. And on top of that he's weak enough that most of our older children would tear him apart."

"That's any man save for myself though."

"Well, yeah, but he's also a dragon lord, what's his excuse?"
