Chapter 159 - Plans Move Along (4)

It was only about a year after the propaganda spread across the land, to all of the nations, and tribes. It took a while to really take hold however, once it did, Brightness took his young queen with him to form another new nation, naming it the Dragon Kingdom. It was the perfect time to do this, given there would always be a secret connection between it and Tus Nadair.

This new nation would serve a major function, to give the surface level appearance that the information was true, and that Brightness couldn't tolerate it any longer, but also was not able to lift his own hand to put a stop to it. He announced it like so:

"I am paralyzed here, so I must move on, for the treatment may be bad, I also can not raise my hand against the mother of my children. And so for their sake, and my late wife's sake, I will set off and found a new nation."

The declaration was rather lackluster on purpose… I can't help but feel like this is far too unfair to you, my love. Forgive me, I was unable to write out a proper declaration, I respect you far too much for that. He faced his new wife, a young human woman just over the cusp of maturity. "It's you and I now. And we must keep that front going on the surface."

"I understand, husband. I will do everything in my power to help you, as well as Mother."

"You don't feel any animosity towards her for what your parents are still currently living through?"

She shook her head, as a flowing breeze blew across the prairie… She turned slightly, and held an innocent pose, wearing a truly happy smile. "No, my parents are fine. Those people that caused my birth, they're just the two who contributed to bringing me into this world. However, it was my parents that raised me with the tender love, and care that every child needs. I learned so much from them that I can't hold anything but gratitude for their great many blessings. And now, I get to help Mother shape this wonderful world with everything I am. I'm nothing but grateful."

Brightness in his human form, smiled, and started to close the distance between them. "I see, you've got a good head on your shoulders. And know the proper places to place your trust."

The young woman blushed, and touched her forehead. "Besides, Mother's kisses held so much meaning behind them… I could never hate her. Those others that had the same treatment I did, and still refused her, are all foolish blowhards who spit in her magnanimity." She sighed, then gently touched her lips. "Besides, the second kiss, I feel like she was entrusting me with you, to walk beside you, and take care of your needs. So I ask you to take care of my needs as well."

"Of course, I won't mistreat you. But you should know-"

"Nope, don't say it. I already know, you don't love me the same way you love Mother. You should know, I don't expect to be loved the same way either. We should build the nation with the idea that you benevolently sowed your seed upon my fields. And not that we are real lovers, after all, no one would believe that you fell in love with me after leaving the best woman in the world."

Brightness chuckled a little, now holding the woman in his embrace. "She was right, you're rather smart. I do like you, and so I will treat you like a woman, just like the many times I treated her." He said, engaging in a dusk lit kiss. "So, don't debase yourself any further. You are worthy of real love, so I shall give it to you."

An aide returned to Tsa's side, with a report. "Lord Tsa, I've brought news."

"Good news then!" Tsa laughed. "Go ahead. Don't keep me waiting."

"About that, sir… All of the nations that we spread propaganda to have erupted into civil wars, or are siding with Tus Nadair, and sending troops to lend a hand in the civil wars of other nations. They feel emboldened as well. And moreover we have emissaries from those nations that are, requesting support, demanding answers…"

"I see, so the propaganda didn't do what I wanted it to. Hmm, I wonder, did she know that it would end this way? And then, what do you mean by emboldened?"

"Well… About that… The Brightness Dragon Lord has gone off with a young woman and a handful of people, their intent is to form another new nation."

"How's that bad news? That's good news- Huh, what's with that expression?"

"Well, the young woman whom he took to be his new queen, is actually a rather beautiful one, and she- was- one of the people who personally experienced Goddess Night Silver's harsh treatments. This was her statement on a public missive, it's currently in distribution around all of the other nations."

A fancy scroll was presented, and on it was the Dragon Kingdom Queen's honest, and magic manipulation free, statement on the actual events that transpired during the course of her life. And in it, was one bit that really hammered home just how screwed Tsa was:

"... I relay these private details, and lived experience with a heavy heart. To think that someone would lie so harshly about the love Mother bestowed upon me. And use that lie to insight the people across the land. With a heavy heart, I weep for all those who have lost their way, and more so for those who've lost their lives fighting for a cause that was never justified."

"This doesn't make sense, there's no reason for my brother to have left Sil's side if her account is correct?"

"Actually, there is… Apparently Goddess Night Silver has practically been carrying a child in her womb every day for decades. Any man would eventually grow exhausted from something like that. No release and always sowing an always ready field… I know I couldn't handle it for more than a few years, let alone a few decades."

"You might be right. There's also the mundane nature of Brightness' declaration." Tsa sighed, a truly heavy sigh.

A military informant arrived in a panic. "Lord Tsa, forgive my intrusion, but we're surrounded by the forces of multiple nations."

"It seems, I've lost this battle, Sil. Very well. Surrender to them, and make sure that none of the people get hurt. I'll go into exile so no one has to die." He got up and left.

"He really fled, just like that. Mother was right, he really is a big coward. This nation is finished, I'll try moving to this new Dragon Kingdom."
