The dragons, steeling themselves for the fight ahead of them, flew… The vastness of the forest, the rolling hills, and the unending green plains lay beneath them. They talked to each other, lifting their spirits as they soared. Their planning began.
"I'll be the designated healer for everyone. My range is 20 times that of my wing span. So try to stay within it." Anastasi said. "You should form units of 3." She suggested.
"Wow, Anastasi, did you come up with that yourself?"
"Cause, it sounds like you want us to go and die."
"A team of four would definitely crush them."
"This will give you a good chance of winning, while providing a buffer in the event you need to fall back, another group will swap out." Anastasi sighed.
Brightness arrived, flying higher than all of them. So high, even the enemy wouldn't know to look for him. So his speech was delivered through their minds… "Listen, Anastasi, your plan is good. Though, leave the save your hides to me. So let them group up into 4s. If I wasn't planning on intervening, I'd have said otherwise. But you should know something… I share in the rage my mate has… Her children are my children."
"I see, if Big brother intervenes then it should be alright." She muttered. "Fine, 8 teams of 4. And I'll move between all of you for heals and buffs as you need them."
"Shouldn't need many. Cause we're going to surprise these assholes."
The dragons were rapidly approaching the border now. The Greed Kings were simply waiting around, a couple of them yawned. You see, they expected one on one fights. They had trained for such, and thus had been blinded by the overwhelming fear that Night Silver's existence caused.
It was right around the time one finished their yawn, when Hougan got a little worried. "Hey, does it look like they aren't slowing down?"
"Hmm, now that you mention it, they seem to be speeding up…"
"It's just the eight of them that have sped up." One said, with a sneer. "Let's get ready to harvest some dragon corpses."
"Yeah, even if we fight all at once, that's no different than eight one-on-one fights. Simultaneously, instead of consecutively."
"It might be a little harder… If we're all busy, the rest of the dragons could gang up on one of us at a time."
The Guild Master licked her lips, to assuage her own fears. "Well then, I guess we just have to avoid that from happening. So, if you see any signs like that happening, group up to make it as large of a conflict as possible."
"If it comes to that, I'll have summons out the second we group up."
The dragons approached… And let out a roar in unison. All except for one, his position must be kept secret.
"Here it comes boys! I count 37 of these ugly bastards."
"Same!" The other members of the Greed Kings responded with the same count.
"It's time to fight!"
Eight dragons surged forward, far ahead of the pack. Each taking different directions, causing a swirling whirlwind of currents to form. A few light tornadoes appeared and died out. Each of them picked their targets ahead of time.
"They're splitting us up! Be careful!"
The streaks across the sky were clear. Suddenly they each stopped. They had managed to separate the Greed Kings far enough apart that no one would be able to lend another any aid. It was also a perfect octagon, with Anastasi at its center.
In this formation, it would be completely impossible for any of the evil Greed Kings to wrangle themselves free of their positions.
"We've got them into position!"
That was the signal for the remaining dragons to scatter and find their way towards their own opponents. The handful of exceptions were the four that remained circling at a halfway point between the fights, and Anastasi at the center. Their job was to two fold; protect Anastasi from any interruptions, and to be the single replacement for those who were in desperate need of healing. Though, they'll have a third task later, but they can't do it yet.
Brightness looked down from so far above, he was touching the boundary to outer space. I see, that's not a bad plan they've got there… They might not even need my aid. Even so… I can't just sit back and let them take my vengeance out for me.
Down below, the Greed Kings had been placed in an immediately disadvantageous position. Each of them now alone, fighting a desperate battle, all on their own.
"Damn it! How did these things get so much stronger? It's like I'm fighting 5 Dungeon Bosses at once." The barbarian clicked his tongue. "Well, at least I'm not fighting 4 stronger ones… I could consider this lucky."
"No, you are going to die by our jaws!"
One of the dragons the barbarian was fighting, managed a brutal attack, chomping down on his arm, and tore it from his body.
The scream of pain was more than loud enough for the others to hear. It caused an additional effect, similar to a morale debuff spell. And as one would expect, the others slowed down, just for a second. But that was all that was required for them to start dropping like flies.
In a matter of a few seconds, 6 of the enemies were killed. And now, their corpses were strung up, and flown around in that same circle before.
The last two alive was the one summoner, and it was solely because he had used dozens of cash shop items to summon far more creatures than one would normally be allowed to. However, this was the single worst choice he could have made… He should have run and gone into hiding. Because, seeing all the new foes, the now free dragons appeared to lend a helping hand. The summoner was killed in a thunder of dragons, it was anything but painless.
The last remaining member was the guild master. However, she has already suffered heavy injuries, in game terms, her health points were likely below 10… However, even with the odds stacked against her, she managed to call forth even strength to kill one of her opponents… Or so she thought… As she was about to land the killing blow. She felt a crush weight launch her straight into the ground below, a blood stained crater formed where she landed.
"I'm not letting you kill another one of my siblings." He fummed.
