Chapter 143 - Dragons Take Flight

"Listen up everyone, today is the day you're going to end those idiots." Night Silver started explaining. "Be careful, and don't underestimate them. I may have had them agree to face you one at a time…"

"In that case this'll be easy. With how much stronger we are now, there's no way we could lose."

"That's right! And once we're done with them, we can return home and get our reward."

Night Silver clicked her tongue. She did not like getting cut off.

"Hey, idiots! Big sister wasn't done talking yet. Don't be rude to her after she just sheltered and trained you for all this time! Sure it's just a decade, but that doesn't matter. You should always respect, big sister!" Anastasi was fuming with a hell of a pout on her cheeks.

The dragons were very quick to realize they messed up. They also knew that no matter how strong they got, Night Silver always seemed to be untouchable for some reason. It was like the distance between them was always the same, until they reflected upon their own growth, and realized that it wasn't that she was growing. It was just that they were truly that far out of her league.

"Now then. Those asshats will ignore this agreement once they feel like you guys did. After all they think it's going to be multiple one on one matches, Not that they are just walking into the meat grinder." She said, with a wild smirk. "They likely think I wouldn't be so bold enough to make demands while demanding them to go and die. Since they agreed to this matter, it tells me that my interference is no longer needed. They are too weak minded for me to get involved."

There was a brief pause. "You'll still offer us healing, right?"

"Of course I will. Though I think the lot of you will be fine on your own. After all, you've got Anastasi on your side. With her healing you through the fight… I doubt you'll really need help." She explained. "Though, if they even remotely cross into my border, you should clear away from them. Because they will die without fail. I'm playing around today."

Brightness seemed to be in deep thought. Should I intervene? If I do, then it will prevent her from having to slay someone else from her homeworld… "Sil, would you mind if I participate in the battle?"

"You may do what you like, Husband. But you should do it for a reason other than what's on your mind right now." Her answer was clear. "I don't care if I have to kill them with my own hand. They aren't friends, nor do they have the desire to become friends. And nor do I desire to even think about tolerating them any longer than today." Her face twisted into one of absolute rage. "THEY DARED LAY THEIR HANDS ON MY BABIES!" Her voice carried with it, the ferocious power of nature. Then her face slowly returned to one of a calm beauty, holding back a rage that put a dragon's fury to shame. "Now then, please, kill them without reservation… Anastasi, you know what I mean by that, correct?"

"Yes big sister! We kill them, then revive them, then kill them again!"

"Precisely. I want them to die, over and over again! Especially that Hougan shithead." The venire started slipping, then came back under control. "Besides, once we kill them enough times… No amount of resurrection and healing magic will bring them back."

"Sister Sil, it's moments like these that make me understand why Mother said we should accept you. And why Brightness likes you so much he kept the same partner for 110 years now…" He paused. "Your fury is something else, I love it."

"It comes from being a mother with a hurt child." Sil replied. That same smile holding a fierce display of angry might… She was clearly furious, but hearing the dragon speak so highly of her made her slightly happier. "Now, go kill the fools who dare to lay a finger on all that's good in this world."

Without wasting a single second, the sound of several dozen dragon lords taking flight sounded out. The air trembled as they made their ascent. In total, there were 37 of them. First was Anastasi, the strongest among them. Then, the other fools who came from their mother's home, at first it had just been those who managed to make their way over to establish the alliance, but soon more managed to find their way over through Night Silver's aid. A bit more trouble than she had wanted, but for her, it was simple enough a task to perform.

Brightness stayed behind, waiting for a moment. He looked into Night Silver's eyes, gave her a kiss and then ran off, taking to the sky with a single mighty leap. Assuming his dragon form and soaring over to fight. She'll understand.

"So you've chosen to fight. Well then… You'd better not lose." She said, touching her lips.

Earra & Talam came to see their mother. Talam being the son of Undine, he still thought of, and treated Night Silver as his mother. To him, all of his siblings, they were both their Mother.

"Mother, how long do you think it'll take for those foolish uncles to defeat the evil guys who hurt my sisters?" Telam asked, hiding his thoughts… Or at least attempting to.

"Don't worry, it'll be over rather quickly. Well, the enemies, first death will be." She answered, pulling her two children in close to her body. "I know you want revenge, it's a natural feeling you have as an elder brother…"

"I thought I was hiding it well, Mother."

"Don't you know? You can't hide anything from your mother." She said with a simple nudging him closer. "In any case, it's good you feel that way, it makes it easier to explain how I feel." She added. "Magnify that feeling several million times, and you might feel a sliver of how much rage is boiling inside me."

"Mother, don't tease us like that. We could never understand just how far the depths of your anger go. So for now, just let us hug you." Earra giggled.

"Then let's watch the enemy die by the hands of who will hopefully be our new allies. Them getting revenge for us will serve as a bridge towards friendship. And that is the only reason I haven't slaughtered those Eight Greed Kings myself."
