"What do I do now?" Atlas asked with a lost expression.
"Now I will give you the tour of my home. This place will be one you will spend most of your time occupying after all." I said casually.
That is what I did too. It took a little longer than my other tours since I needed to explain the details of each room to Atlas since it would be left taking care of them. Still in the end it wasn't too much of a hassle and once it was done I left the bot to it's own devices.-
I had no intention of micromanaging the thing since with the engrams that I had used to make up it's base personality that would only make it reject the purpose I gave it. I gave it freedom to keep it controlled to put it simply. Honestly this was merely a whim of mine anyways so even if the bot decided to go out into the world and make a name for itself rather than work for me I wouldn't care too much. Sure it's materials and tech were worth a fortune but I wasn't exactly lacking in either of those at the moment.-
With Atlas done and off doing something or other I chose to relax with some good old fashioned fun, murdering the ever loving fuck out of one of my three Ratch swarms in my menagerie. While I did that I had the idea of collecting creatures in my menagerie like a zoo of sorts. I had dozens of enclosures so collecting a small population of Pandora's fauna wouldn't be too much of a problem. My first target was naturally the abundant Skag. Honestly with the seemingly never ending supply of them outside Fyrestone collecting a few of the more exceptional pups was an easy affair.-
I put them in an enclosure set to mimic the environment outside Fyrestone complete with small cave for a den and then set the feeding schedule at once every day. I tossed in a few toys for enrichment and that was that. My next target was the Spider ants. Catching a queen proved slightly tricky(I had to kill the rest of the hive first) but I soon had one well I hand and set up in it's own enclosure with ample building supplies and feed.-
Within no more than two hours the queen had a small nest made of silk and gathered materials as she worked to restore her colony. I left for my third target after that in the form of the Scythids. Catching them was as easy as leaving bait in cages and waiting for them to sniff it out. The strange worm creatures fell for it every time. That population was set up similarly to the Skags without the toys. There were three more species on the planet that I was willing to keep for my zoo. As an added bonus I hadn't hunted two of them before so I might even be able to get some new nifty traits.-
The first was the Crab worms that in truth were semi aquatic and needed access to a decent amount of water in their enclosure but didn't prove hard to capture. A fun fact about them was that if you could get behind them and grab the base of their pincers to hold them up out of the ground they were basically defenseless. They could only shoot acid in the direction they were facing and without any traction or maneuverability they were completely harmless.-
Still if anything I doubted they cared about being kidnapped like this after I set their enclosure to mimic a beach. If anything they seemed downright thrilled by their new home. The next two species required a bit of travel on my part. The first was located in the frosty regions of the planet with Sanctuary being fairly near the nesting area of them. I was of course referring to the brutish six limbed ape creatures known as Bullymongs. The anatomy of these monkeys was inefficient to say the least as they had small hips and legs that couldn't even support the beasts bulky upper bodies.-
Those upper bodies were how they moved and fought as they had two sets of arms with four "hands" that had three fingers and a thumb. This let them use tools for things like bashing in skulls or throwing rocks or chunks of ice at people. The entire body of a Bullymong was also nothing but muscle. They came in different colors but the usual was pale blue-white, brown or grey depending on the location they lived. All of them had tuffs of soft fur at their wrists and head going down their back.-
I found a few easily once I arrived near Sanctuary and proceeded to beat the shit out of them fair and easy before tossing their battered forms into the enclosure. Their traits were similar to a jabbers but with a stronger body trait. The only thing they had worth grabbing in my opinion was [Cold resistance]. For an arctic dwelling species this was hardly surprising though. The final species I was interested in possessing was one that most people on this planets dreaded, Stalkers. A nightmare species that had built in cloaking and ranged attacks.-
They were roughly reptilian in nature with a typically temperate climate being preferred by them but they can live pretty much anywhere. They had two large legs at their front with a flap of skin between the calves and thighs behind the knee almost like a false wing. The back legs were normal reptile legs in shape minus the ends of the feet that had two wide apart toes tipped with claws for climbing and moving quietly. At their rear was a long whip like tailed with a sharp spike at it's end that they launched at prey before growing back almost immediately.-
The reason they were dreaded however was because they could turn almost entirely transparent. They could do this apparently because their scales could absorb solar energy which was then turned into electrical shielding that refracted light near perfectly across their scales. Thankfully this same electrical shielding was what told people they were around as the sound of the energy moving was very distinctive. I found the Stalkers for my collection near the small town of Overlook that was in a good spot on Pandora. There was genuine grass and plantlife here and the sea nearby wasn't polluted to a too visible degree. -
The town itself was built high up on the edge of a cliff which was bold to say the least. It wasn't bothered by bandits since it was home to the bandit clan of an unusually Irish themed nature called the Zafords. Anyways I simply walked into the nearby Stalker den and grabbed the scaly shits when they tried to attack me. They wiggled and scratched but my skin was pretty much bulletproof so that did absolutely nothing. For traits they had [Bio-energy shielding-Epic grade] and [Active camouflage-Legendary grade] that I took both of. The rest were mundane traits not worth the trouble.-
I was going to give the shielding trait to Bloodwing as I had promised Mordy if I found the trait again. The camo trait though was mine to finally make the one I already had worth a damn. This new trait created a distortion field over anything on me as well as my own body to let me turn nearly invisible. I didn't need it sure but it was a fun ability to have so why not?
