That done I went back to Fyrestone to work on my stuff while I waited for the satellite station to arrive so I could finally finish the trade with the Angel. My current project was creating the ideal personality engram for a kick ass butler robot. So far I had taken Hammerlock's, Baldrin's, Roland's and Brick's engrams and trimmed away the memories and undesirable traits leaving a blank engram premade with inclinations to loyalty, fearlessness and adaptability. From then I added all the data on housekeeping, butlery, service, assistant uses and weapon use.-
With the base personality construct done I moved on to the body that was going to be the most intensive part of this project as I had no intentions of making a simple body like most robots. What I was making would be almost human not only in form but mannerisms and complexity. I started with the skeleton of the bot that was modeled after a standard human skeleton. I changed a few small details since obviously a bot wouldn't need the same uses in the structures of the bones. The rib cage for example didn't need to be as flexible since the bot wouldn't need to breath.-
As a result that area was changed to a sturdy hexagon lattice plate of Eridian metal curved around and attached to the many more vertebrae having spine. The multiple vertebrae of the standard spine is an adaptation for flexibility and support of the entire body. By adding more than the usual amount the bot would be more flexibly than expected at first glance, a bit like a snake. I of course also reinforced the connections between them so the area wouldn't be a weak point in the body.-
The hips and shoulders of the skeleton were also modified because the bot wouldn't have reproductive organs or as limited range of movement as normal humans. I also modified the feet into a sort of secondary set of hands for movement on nearly all terrains. Additionally it would allow the bot to fight as though it possessed four arms instead of two. For the hands themselves it was a small modification to allow for all directional finger movement. This way the bot could grasp things regardless of the angle unlike humans who only have limited movement of their hands.-
The only other distinct modification to the shape of the skeleton was that I made the legs possess reverse jointed knees for more powerful movement. With the skeleton done I began creating the carbon fibrous false muscles to animate the frame. I left spaces for the other tech I was integrating as well but nothing was left out otherwise. From there the real fun began, Seraph energy core, EECM central processor, Anti gravity fielding, built in energy cannon in the right forearm. I added a projection energy shield to the left forearm, rocket boosters to the back calves, Multitool finger tips, multi wavelength spectral optics and auditor sensors, Sonic disruption capable sound system and enough hidden weapon systems to make this thing more lethal than any soldier alive.-
Layered over all of this was an adaptive armored nanoweave metal "skin" that besides the lack of hair and silver coloration gave the bot an almost human appearance. An unnaturally gaunt one but a humanish appearance all the same. With this the bot was complete and all I had to do was upload the personality base into it and start it up. That step took me only a few second and soon the "eyes" of the bot opened as the glowing blue optics blinked as the personality worked to make sense of it's new reality.-
"Welcome to the universe, Atlas." I said with a grin at my little joke in the name.
Much like the company itself soon enough this bot was a servant to my will, a tool for me to use as I wished. Unlike the company however this bot had to potential to grow into something more. What exactly that more was in the end was up to it and it's choices.
"Atlas?" a deep synthetic male voice said with a slight confused expression on the bots face.
"Your designation that I chose as my right as your creator." I said calmly.
"You made me? Me? What am I? What is my purpose?" the bot asked as it sat up from the table.
"You are experiencing disorientation as your cognitive process works to catch up to your reality. Not to worry this is perfectly normal. As for what you are and your purpose. You are an artificial robotic lifeform created for the purpose of assisting me in all matters, mundane or otherwise. That will come later though. How are you doing, any problems I might have missed?" I asked calmly.
"I do not detect any abnormalities within my form. An unusually high amount of weapons systems however. Am I designed for combat?" Atlas asked as it stood up on it's reverse jointed legs.
"Should it be required of you yes." I said nodding.
"And what are you? My scans indicate your human visage is incorrect, a deception." Atlas asked curiously.
"That's a loaded question if there ever was one. Where to begin? I was human originally I suppose. Then I became a siren, a subspecies of humans if you will that hold unique and powerful abilities. One of only seven in the entire universe in fact. My powers allow me to take the lifeforce from slain things and the traits of them as well. Using these I can evolve myself or others theoretically infinitely. Despite my shape you are correct in saying I am not human. At the moment I could actually be considered half god if anything at all." I said honestly.
"Half god? What is a god?" Atlas asked with a frown.
"Another loaded question. It honestly varies from person to person. Theres never been a truly agreed upon measure for what truly a god is. For some it's the most powerful being in the universe. For others it's an existence outside the ordinary for life. For some it's just a made up word so we don't feel so alone in the universe. For me though I believe it's a state of life. A god is evolutionarily speaking above all other lifeforms not gods themselves. My own assertion that I am half god comes from the fact I have collected and fused more than half the siren power traits in existence giving rise to the incomplete trait labeled [Phase god]." I said plainly.
"I believe I understand. A god is subjective. You are merely a very powerful lifeform then." Atlas said satisfied.
"More or less." I said with a shrug.
I wasn't offended by that statement at all since that was indeed what I was. Besides it wasn't as though Atlas even knew how to insult people yet so this was just the bot stating it's understanding of what I told it. I really was very damn happy with the bot so far as it had been learning and adapting to it's new reality at blisteringly fast speed.
