It was morning, and I overslept—again—on such an important day, the day my true identity was to be revealed.
"Where is Ling Ling? Don't tell me she's still asleep," someone said, hoping to be proven wrong. But everyone knew me—I never changed.
"Ling Ling, wake up or you're going to be late for the meeting," Zha Zha tried to rouse me.
"Is it already time to eat?" I mumbled, half asleep.
Wen Zhin dragged me out of bed and forced me to shower—or else she'd never grant me personal leave.
At the meeting, impatience was growing. They called Zha Zha multiple times, wondering if the boss would show.
"This is outrageous. I know she's the boss, but this is disrespectful. How can she make us believe she'd finally reveal herself, then not appear?" one man complained, belittling.
"Oh my! I never knew wanting to familiarize myself with those who support me at every step would be a waste of their time," I said calmly as I walked into the room, cloaked and mysterious.
Everyone stood and bowed in unison to greet me. I returned their greeting with a bow and a warm smile.
They sat, and the meeting began. The main reason for the gathering was announced, highlighting the problem we faced. Everyone agreed the best solution was to issue an elimination mission.
The most important part done, it was time to discuss punishment for the one responsible for the warehouse.
"My Lady, if I may speak," one member stood, bowed respectfully.
"As you know, my Lady, the Hexagonal gang is the most intelligent enemy we've ever faced. Their goal is to bring the Dracula Empire to its knees. To do so, they must eliminate all our powerful resources," he explained, trying to persuade the room to spare Lao Zhan.
"Yes?" I asked, intrigued.
"Don't you find it too convenient that they targeted one of our most valued warehouses, the one under Lao Zhan—the Dark Horse Rider? If they take him out, it will be simple to get close to you. But there's something else disturbing me," he continued with a concerned look.
"What is it?" I leaned in.
"The way the intruder moved, it was like he knew where all the security cameras were. It seemed like he'd been there before, but we all know that's impossible. Therefore, there's a rat among us. Someone told the enemy everything about the Dracula Empire," he said with conviction.
"You're correct. That's why I had all your PAs and guards—except mine, of course—stand outside, so they wouldn't know our plan. The rat is among your subordinates, so none of you need to worry about one of us being the traitor. With that said, none of you will go on this mission. Zha Zha and I will lead it with the South Korea team. We'll inform you all once we return. And lastly..."
I removed my cloak. Everyone gasped, shocked to see the most feared female in China was such a cute, innocent-looking girl.
Without another word, I left.
I went home to grab my passport and informed Wen Zhin about my trip to South Korea. Then I headed to the airport and took a private jet.
As soon as I landed, I went straight to the hotel to discuss the mission.
