Chapter 463 - Chapter 463: Greek Pantheon—The Mythic World! Heading Toward an Unknown Path: Hope or Destruction?

Poseidon?

Has he truly been affected?

It's hard to say.

Difficult to judge.

For any god, really, it's impossible to determine whether Poseidon has been greatly influenced.

And yet…

It's ultimately the power of a dark god. If it could be fully mastered, that would naturally be ideal. For gods, there is no strict division between light and dark, good and evil—those are superficial distinctions.

To gods, power is power.

As long as it can be fully controlled and mastered, then it's good power, as far as they're concerned.

To gods, this is the fundamental principle.

As for anything else?

Heh…

All of it is meaningless. It's no joke—gods only care that they can master power, not what kind of power it is.

In fact…

Even if it means losing themselves, many gods are willing to pay that price.

But!

Poseidon should not be one of them. As a god-king, Poseidon already had his own path, albeit a difficult one, but it was never a dead end.

For that reason…

Poseidon should never have taken this path.

And yet!

Has Poseidon truly been influenced by dark god power?

It's impossible to know.

Perhaps…

Even Poseidon himself may not be able to answer. Sometimes, this kind of influence is so insidious that even the person affected can't recognize it. And that is precisely what makes it so terrifying!

This is beyond doubt.

This unique divine power is not something any god could easily master.

The Underworld.

Elysium.

"…"

Hades slowly opened his eyes.

Persephone, noticing, asked, "Husband, what's the matter?"

Hades thought briefly, then replied, "It's the aura of an outer god—or perhaps a dark god."

"A dark god?"

Persephone and Eris both widened their eyes in shock.

This…

How could that be?

For the gods…

Who among them doesn't know that the greatest threat lurking in the Sea of Chaos is the pantheon of Cthulhu—the outer gods, the old gods, the Great Old Ones?

These beings are known as dark gods.

The Astral Sea and the Black Sea together act as a protective shell, enveloping the Mythic World to prevent the incursion of dark gods.

Now!

To think that the aura of a dark god has appeared within the Mythic World? How could that be?

No…

No!

Is this even logical?

Is this a normal occurrence?

At that moment, both goddesses fell silent.

What's going on here?

What does it mean? This isn't a joke. If this continues… what will be the future outcome?

Where is the Mythic World heading?

Just thinking about it brings a feeling of endless despair.

Ah!

But then Persephone and Eris realized, "The Underworld is already starting to transcend the Mythic World. There's no need to worry."

They both relaxed, their attitudes calm, as if none of this truly concerned them.

Hades continued, "This divine power originates from Poseidon. When he first faced our father, he already wielded this dark god power. Back then, Poseidon was still Poseidon. But now—is he still himself?"

In a rare display, Hades's voice held a hint of uncertainty.

Clearly!

Even Hades was unsure about this question, unable to fully understand if Poseidon was still truly Poseidon. Could this power have changed him entirely?

In truth, the matter is complex. What could the future hold?

Even Hades felt a certain loss.

"This…" Persephone and Eris looked utterly baffled.

Clearly!

The two goddesses hadn't expected such a development. It was shocking and beyond imagination.

This isn't some casual remark.

Rather…

It's cold, hard reality. In this current age of the Mythic World, where the ancient gods have receded and the four god-kings reign, there may actually be a god-king tainted by dark god power—or even controlled by it.

This…

Just thinking about it is enough to evoke fear and dread.

In a sense, it's almost unimaginable.

But!

If her husband—the ruler of the Underworld—was saying this, then it certainly wasn't something he'd take lightly.

This truly unsettling situation was beyond imagination. Who would have ever thought things would turn out this way?

Persephone pondered, then asked, "Husband, if this continues, could Poseidon eventually fall entirely under the control of dark god power?"

"It's uncertain," Hades replied, "Dark god power is indeed terrifying, but likewise, it is just a form of divine power. It's never been tamed because no one has mastered it. If Poseidon can maintain control, he'll be fine. But if not…"

"It's hard to say."

Hades couldn't give a definite answer. In his opinion, Poseidon wouldn't succumb. But if Poseidon truly had mastery over this dark god power, it shouldn't have manifested in such an unstable way.

This alone made the whole thing suspicious—one could even call it bizarre.

It could be said that the Greek Pantheon, the Mythic World…

Had truly begun to stray from its original path, veering into the unknown. And what awaits on that path: hope or destruction?

No one can say.
