Chapter 4560: Can't You Smash a Little Lighter
The statue departed, just like with the other grand arrays; it went where it was supposed to go. Lin Moyu stood in the array, lost in thought. Calamity Supreme had said "the decision is in your hands," a phrase with many layers of meaning.
On the surface, it just meant that everything depended on when Lin Moyu could fully refine all of the grand arrays. Only then would they have the basic prerequisites to mount an attack on the "Dao."
But that was just the baseline; with only these arrays, at most, they could create some trouble for the Dao perhaps not even serious trouble.
Whether they could truly claim victory still depended on Lin Moyu himself.
According to Calamity Supreme's plan, at a minimum, Lin Moyu would need to reach the Supreme level, and even that might not be enough.
Ideally, Lin Moyu would surpass the Supreme realm, achieve tenfold sublimation, gather the strength of ten domains, exceed the Supreme limit, and unleash the full might of Calamity's authority.
Back in the day, Calamity Supreme had achieved ninefold sublimation, fighting "Dao" at the limit of the Dao Sovereign realm, but was ultimately defeated and wounded.
So that still wasn't enough he'd have to go further.
Until now, Lin Moyu had always followed Calamity Supreme's scheme, but put his own changes into it without altering the core.
Yet now he'd discovered something unusual about Calamity Supreme.
If Calamity Supreme hadn't truly perished and had hidden all these years in the deepest reaches of the wilderness, maybe he'd found something there to break through his previous limit.
Otherwise, how could he have seen through the Hidden Spirit Pearl and discovered Lin Moyu's secrets?
But what was Calamity Supreme's true ultimate goal in this plan? Was it good or bad?
"Calamity Supreme is probably the deepest schemer since ancient times," Lin Moyu murmured.
Little Tree shook his head, "If what you think is true, then they are the same kind of person."
He meant Calamity Supreme and the "Dao"; the great war back then was nearly over by the time "Dao" appeared. So many great powers had died or been injured.
"Dao" wasn't the oriole, nor merely lurking in the background it was the hidden hand behind the hunter.
Lin Moyu smiled quietly, "Improve our strength. In one thing he's right chaos is about to erupt, and maybe that's our chance."
His words had a double meaning the opportunity ahead belonged to himself and Little Tree, not to Calamity Supreme.
Though they were still pawns, soon this pawn would leap off the board and strike at the player.
While refining the array, Lin Moyu used sub arrays to reverse refine the main array.
He was already experienced; within days, the refinement was done.
At this point, he controlled all four cross domain grand arrays.
With a thought, he could make all four cease functioning.
After refining the four, Lin Moyu found they'd begun to link together, merging into one structure.
Now, with four main and four sub arrays, they acted as one formation.
He could freely teleport between them for example, from a North Pole sub array to any main or sub array in the South, wherever he wished.
All the cross domain arrays now marked the exact locations of the remaining three arrays.
No longer just their approximate area, but with a positional error of less than ten thousand li.
In the chaos void, ten thousand li is a tiny sliver one stride could span more than that.
Leaving the grand array, the Hidden Spirit Pearl enveloped Lin Moyu and Xiao Peng as they flew toward the North Pole's main array.
This time he didn't use a North Pole teleportation array, but chose to refine the Hidden Spirit Pearl fully along the way, then use the primordial breath to help Xiao Peng awaken his entire bloodline.
With the Hidden Spirit Pearl, even if Xiao Peng's bloodline awakened completely, "Dao" wouldn't find out.
At that point, even if Xiao Peng wasn't quite at the peak of the Golden Winged Roc, he'd be as fast as a teleport array.
There'd be no need to hop arrays anymore Xiao Peng would suffice.
Once fully refined, the Hidden Spirit Pearl would keep everyone safe: Xiao Peng regains his bloodline, Little Tree and Chaos Child can finally go all out, the protagonist can recover completely.
And when the undead minions hit Perfection, they'll be able to fight without reservation.
The Hidden Spirit Pearl was too important it had to be refined soon.
Along the way, Lin Moyu witnessed one war after another.
The North and Upper Realms were at open war now: slaughter was fierce, casualties uncountable.
He saw the North Supreme's avatar scooping up fresh blood and souls on the battlefield, using a special treasure.
Rumor had it the East would attack soon, and the North Supreme would be involved as well.
Xiao Peng traveled vast distances through the void toward the North's center, flying for decades.
The refinement of the Hidden Spirit Pearl was nearly complete just a little more effort.
But that final step eluded him; there seemed to be a wall blocking his soul force from the core.
Puzzled, Lin Moyu tried every method, but couldn't pierce the core.
Little Tree said, "Back then even Chaos Skyswarm couldn't fully refine the Hidden Spirit Pearl. Looks like it's not that he didn't want to, but that he couldn't."
Chaos Child wondered, "With your soul force now, you should be able to refine it."
Little Tree explained, "The Hidden Spirit Pearl is one of the world pearls. It absorbed primordial breath, but never gained sentience."
Lin Moyu guessed, "So the primordial breath gathered at the core, turning into an armor like shell that protects it?"
Little Tree said, "Before gaining wisdom, our instinct is self preservation. The Pearl is the same. Because it never gained wisdom, it used primordial breath for protection."
If true, then his soul truly couldn't break it.
He roused the drowsing Primal Gem, "Can the barrier at the Pearl's core be smashed?"
The Primal Gem peered at it: "Yes, but after smashing it, the pearl is ruined."
"Can't you smash a little lighter?" Lin Moyu sighed.
"It's not about strength by now the pearl and the primordial breath have fully fused."
The armor wasn't just protection it was part of the pearl now.
Once destroyed, the pearl itself would shatter.
Lin Moyu frowned, "Is there any other way?"
The Primal Gem answered, "Of course what's impossible for others is simple for you."
He brightened. "Primordial breath!"
