Chapter 4561: Recovery
Since the armor was made of Primordial Qi, the best way to break it was with Primordial Qi itself.
The Primal Gem murmured assent and went back to dozing.
Lin Moyu drew a thread of Primordial Qi, using his soul fire as its vessel, and continued refining the Hidden Spirit Pearl.
Sure enough, the previously indestructible formless armor even the World Mother Jellyfish couldn't break now began to loosen.
Lin Moyu sensed that the armor protecting the core of the Hidden Spirit Pearl was softening. It wasn't being violently destroyed but was gradually yielding, allowing his soul fire to enter the core itself.
This process was slow. Lin Moyu was patient, slowly increasing the amount of Primordial Qi and speeding up the refinement.
Gradually, Lin Moyu finally made contact with the Pearl's core and began refining it in earnest.
The Hidden Spirit Pearl never developed true sentience; its core felt pure and singular to Lin Moyu.
Lin Moyu felt enlightenment the Pearl's state pointed him toward his own path: his soul should remain pure.
He realized the road he'd taken wasn't wrong. He abandoned all other Daos and focused solely on the Immortality Dao, thus keeping his soul pure.
There was no need to be almighty going all the way on one path was enough.
In ancient times, top life forms like Little Tree all did something similar.
Taking Hidden Spirit Pearl as reference, Lin Moyu summoned more Primordial Qi this time not for refining, but to transform his soul world itself.
The soul world was his core, and using Primordial Qi as the foundation, he forged an armor for his soul world.
He couldn't do this previously, as massive use of Primordial Qi risked detection by the "Dao."
Now, with the Hidden Spirit Pearl in hand, he could afford to take some risks.
Primordial Qi was powerful and versatile. With its protection, his soul world became much more resilient to threats.
A stronger soul world meant a safer soul, and thus greater survivability.
After over a decade, the Hidden Spirit Pearl was completely refined and Lin Moyu felt delighted, having gained far more than just the refinement.
Now, an invisible armor coated his soul world. By Little Tree's estimate, his soul defense was now several times stronger, and with further evolution, would grow even more formidable.
The Hidden Spirit Pearl became one with the soul world; its formless aura spread over Lin Moyu himself and over Xiao Peng, Little Tree, and the rest.
Even they felt as if they'd become isolated from the Primal Chaos Wilderness.
The Pearl's aura spread further, enveloping even all the undead servants.
The undead aura was masked not true invisibility, but their presence became extremely hard to detect, even though they were still visible to the naked eye.
This was enough; Lin Moyu knew that his real adversary to guard against was the "Dao."
Now, unless the "Dao" showed up in person, he could avoid its detection.
Primordial Qi again was infused into Xiao Peng, helping him fully awaken his Golden Winged Roc bloodline.
Little Tree and Chaos Child were both far better than before; they could slowly absorb the Qi and truly start recovering.
Everything proceeded steadily and methodically. Lin Moyu was unhurried, taking every step solidly.
The ancient Golden Winged Roc blood started bursting with activity under the stimulation of Primordial Qi.
Xiao Peng's speed kept climbing, at a rate that multiplied repeatedly.
There was at least a tenfold difference between awakening 90% of the bloodline and full awakening.
Battle power wasn't that much greater, but at full awakening, Xiao Peng shone with gold and was indistinguishable from the very top experts at Perfection level.
Due to the Hidden Spirit Pearl, only Lin Moyu could sense his aura; others couldn't even see Xiao Peng.
"How do you feel?" Lin Moyu asked calmly, seated on Xiao Peng's back.
Xiao Peng gave a long, excited screech its sound was likewise concealed by the Hidden Spirit Pearl, not spreading outward.
With barely contained excitement, Xiao Peng said, "It feels amazing. Thank you, Father."
Lin Moyu replied with a smile, "It's your fortune, not mine. How's your own combat power feel right now?"
Xiao Peng said, "At least seventy percent of my ancestor's strength. I can fight with any top Perfection experts, and even if I can't beat a Quasi Supreme, I can escape."
Speed was everything if you couldn't win, you could always escape.
Judging from Xiao Peng's current speed, he'd reach the Northern grand array in just a few years a journey that would take others tens of thousands of years would take Xiao Peng less than a million.
Lin Moyu said, "Not bad. There's still more Primordial Qi left. Keep absorbing and refining it soon you'll match or even surpass your ancestor's peak power."
Golden Winged Roc ancestors only absorbed a little Primordial Qi, while Lin Moyu was supplying Xiao Peng almost without limit. The future was limitless.
Little Tree and Chaos Child had been absorbing Primordial Qi for years, starting very slowly due to their injuries.
As they healed, their absorption rate rose, and now both were about seventy percent recovered. Their combat ability was on par with Xiao Peng's; not enough to fight a Quasi Supreme but quite able to contend with top level Perfection beings.
As their recovery advanced, absorption speed would keep climbing, and in another hundred years or so, they'd be fully restored.
Several years later, they finally reached their destination: the grand array set by Calamity Supreme in the North Pole, the last of the Four Poles.
From afar, Lin Moyu saw a figure in blue:
"A blue robe the North Supreme."
"No, not the real body, just an avatar; the true body's outside the World's Wall."
Even faced only with a Supreme's avatar, Lin Moyu preferred not to engage his goal was to refine the array, not fight.
The avatar hadn't noticed Lin Moyu, simply sitting in the void.
Nearby, the grand array lay hidden in a spatial fissure compressed so small it appeared only as a tiny point to outsiders.
Only when activated would the array's true structure appear.
Lin Moyu flew over, eyes narrowing.
Outside Calamity Supreme's array, the North Supreme had set up three more arrays: one killing array, and two alarms that would signal if anyone intruded.
The North Supreme understood formations, but not well Lin Moyu found his traps naive and laughable.
He crafted three runes and, using the Hidden Spirit Pearl, cast them silently into the three arrays.
Nothing appeared to change, but inside, the arrays had already stopped functioning.
Xiao Peng flew past the North Supreme's avatar at a range of a thousand meters yet the avatar didn't sense anything, relieving Lin Moyu completely.
"Enter the array!"
