Chapter 4558: Maybe There's Still a Chance in the Primal Wilderness
When Mu Tianze saw the visitor, he immediately paid his respects, "Tianze greets Master."
The visitor was the old man in the green robe Supreme Boyang of the Central Region. Unexpectedly, he turned out to be Mu Tianze's teacher.
Lin Moyu casually offered a greeting, "Senior, long time no see."
He owed a lot to the green robed old man, but the latter had also done many things that irritated him. Calling him "senior" was already keeping it courteous.
Lin Moyu's attitude startled Mu Tianze.
Supreme Boyang, however, paid no heed, simply laughing, "Lin, my young friend long time no see."
Lin Moyu shook his head, "It's one thing for me to say that, not for you. I don't believe for a second you haven't been monitoring me. In fact, since our first meeting in that small world, you've always been paying attention to me."
Supreme Boyang showed no anger, addressing Mu Tianze instead, "Tianze, I have matters to discuss with Lin. Is there anything else you need?"
Mu Tianze quickly shook his head, "There's nothing, Master."
With that, he withdrew, and only after he was gone did Lin Moyu comment, "So the Alliance Leader is actually your disciple."
Supreme Boyang replied, "Nothing strange about that. All the Grand Elders of the Central Domain Divine Alliance know. After all, with everyone's strength being close, how could Tianze have become Vice Leader otherwise? Being a Supreme's disciple settles the question."
Lin Moyu said, "Let's cut to the chase why did you come looking for me?"
With a wave of his hand, Supreme Boyang cast an array that enveloped the two of them, releasing a dense oppressive force that isolated them from the void and created an independent space.
Lin Moyu asked, "Why be so careful? You think someone in the chaos can eavesdrop on you?"
Supreme Boyang smiled, "Do you remember I once said, 'walls have ears'?"
He had indeed said so in the Origin Continent. Lin Moyu was curious, "Then I'd like to know who is capable of this?"
Supreme Boyang replied, "The Eastern Pole siblings, Jiuri and Jiuyue Quasi Supreme Jiuri can listen in on the chaos, while Supreme Jiuyue can watch over most of it. Few things escape their attention when they cooperate."
Lin Moyu said, "That's an impressive power, but if someone investigates you specifically, you'd definitely notice."
Supreme Boyang replied, "Of course. But if they only investigate you, I wouldn't know, and you'd also find it hard to detect."
Find it hard to detect? Lin Moyu thought his soul was no less sensitive than any Supreme's if someone probed him in secret, he'd sense it. But if Supreme Boyang said so, he'd let it go.
"So, why did you come find me this time?"
Supreme Boyang asked, "I wanted to ask you what is the North Pole's mysterious place truly like?"
Lin Moyu paused, realizing, "So you're very clear on my movements."
Supreme Boyang shook his head, "Don't misunderstand. I haven't been following you."
Lin Moyu laughed, "Then how did you know?"
Supreme Boyang uttered four words: Ice Jade Meditation Mat.
He'd long since known that the Ice Jade Meditation Mat was special; he'd once owned it, but only ever treated it as a powerful treasure, not realizing it was actually a key to that place.
If he'd known sooner, he would have gone long ago.
When Lin Moyu refined the mat, turning it into ice crystal, Supreme Boyang sensed it. From then on, he occasionally tracked Lin Moyu's location.
So when Lin Moyu suddenly disappeared in the North Pole, and the spot corresponded to that mystical area, it meant Lin Moyu had gone inside.
Lin Moyu said, "Actually, it's nothing much. There are some things inside, but for us, completely useless. And we can't even take them. In short, there's no benefit."
Supreme Boyang seemed skeptical, but trusted Lin Moyu wouldn't lie. "So what exactly is inside?"
Lin Moyu answered, "It's related to the secret of the world's origin, and there is also a passage to another world."
Hearing this, Supreme Boyang's breathing became heavy he knew exactly what this meant.
The secret of the world's origin at his cultivation level, that was the only meaningful pursuit left.
Cultivation no longer mattered; insight did. All current Supremes knew that the secret of the world's origin was most likely hidden in the deepest Primal Wilderness, but none of them wanted to risk it it was too dangerous.
Unexpectedly, the North Pole's mysterious site also concealed this secret.
Before he could get too excited, Lin Moyu doused him with cold water, "Don't overthink it. That secret is only what's on the surface. Even if you see it, you won't comprehend anything. If you want to understand, you need to witness the process of the world's origin and derive the true meaning from it."
"As for the specifics, if you really want to know, I can tell you but you'll have to give me something in exchange."
Supreme Boyang studied Lin Moyu, then softly said, "Alright."
Lin Moyu didn't pursue the matter of what to exchange; he trusted Supreme Boyang understood what he wanted.
He then recounted the situation inside the World's Wall to Supreme Boyang, who listened intently, afraid of missing a word.
As Lin Moyu described, after hearing it all, Supreme Boyang realized that just knowing the result was of little value what mattered was the process.
For example, seeing how the World's Wall produced origin treasures, how the origin treasure and the primordial breath fused, and how life began to be nurtured.
That was the real secret of the world's origin; observing this process might let someone grasp a higher realm.
But hearing about it now was pointless.
After a moment's thought, Supreme Boyang asked, "So, after all this, nobody can ever uncover the secret of the world's origin again?"
Since the World's Wall no longer produced origin treasures, and primordial breath had disappeared, that secret couldn't be explored further.
But that wasn't entirely true. Lin Moyu knew there were still methods but he wouldn't reveal them, especially while issues regarding Calamity Supreme remained.
He smiled, "Maybe there's still a chance, in the deepest Primal Wilderness."
Supreme Boyang paused then laughed bitterly, "So after all these years, that old guy in the North Pole ends up with nothing. If he really went in, what would he feel probably want to cough up blood from the loss."
Lin Moyu shook his head, "If he really went in, he might die there. There's a spacetime passage inside leading to the remnants of another world. If he just charges in blindly, he might never come back."
Supreme Boyang sighed, "Then it'll depend on his luck."
Lin Moyu's eyes flickered with new meaning. Supreme Boyang seemed familiar with the world remnants could he know of them? That shouldn't be; Supremes shouldn't know about the world remnants.
Without revealing his thoughts, Lin Moyu said, "Now it's your turn."
