Chapter 4330: Ancestor, Save Me!
The Divine Phoenix Clan's strike force numbered one hundred.
Each warrior was a Chaos Realm Lesser Completion cultivator, clad in condensed Chaos battle armor and wielding Chaos battle weapons.
Formed into a battle array, their combined aura surged heavenward, reaching the very limits of Chaos Lesser Completion.
At the center stood Pang Qi, commanding the array. With a single order, the Phoenix warriors unleashed their assault upon those who pursued Lin Moyu.
At the same time, the Divine Phoenix Clan's battleship roared to life. One core array after another lit up, bombarding targets with terrifying force. Even weaker Chaos cultivators found such firepower impossible to withstand.
Compared to the rabble of scattered individual cultivators chasing Lin Moyu, the Phoenix array stood like a mountain. From the beginning, the battlefield tilted one sidedly.
To Lin Moyu's eyes, this was not a battle at all it was a slaughter without suspense.
Screams erupted. In but a moment, a Chaos Lesser Completion expert fell.
A realm that demanded lifetimes of cultivation to ascend to snuffed out in an eyeblink.
And his death was only the start.
Pang Qi orchestrated the living battle formation with icy precision, turning it into a killing machine that harvested lives swiftly.
The mob that had boldly chased Lin Moyu now looked like dogs driven to their graves, scrambling for escape.
But there was no escape.
The war array conjured stormwinds, working with the battleship's spatial suppressions to corral them into place.
Caught like penned lambs, their only path lay in death.
Many desperately pulled out treasure talismans, guardians, or escape arts none worked.
For countless ages, the Phoenix Clan had fought endless battles. Their combat experience eclipsed anything these opportunistic marauders could muster. During every Chaos war, the Phoenixes served as main force of the Central Domain.
Lin Moyu watched, impassive. Karma's cycle turned: greed birthed cause, cause birthed result. They sought his life for fruit thus their paths ended here. They had cut their own futures, and so returned to Chaos.
Each Chaos cultivator's death infused their lifetimes of power back into the primordial fog.
Even as massacre unfolded, Lin Moyu's eyes narrowed in thought.
His gaze lingered on the Phoenix array and battlecruiser, searching out flaws and methods.
One must think far ahead. Today, relations with the Phoenix Clan stood cordial. But what of tomorrow, should paths diverge or clash? He might yet face these very weapons. Better he understand them now.
Though observing fragments was incomplete, even scraps granted advantage.
These attackers came from all manner of realms, some indigenous to Chaos, others exiles from domains but regardless, none would survive.
And in this carnage, Lin Moyu discerned Pang Qi's ruthlessness.
In daily dealings, the man spoke amiably. Here, his hand was without hesitation.
And still this was not even their true form. They yet fought in humanoid shapes. Should they release their phoenix true bodies, their strength would multiply. Clearly, Pang Qi deemed these foes unworthy of such effort.
Lin Moyu's mind dissected patiently:
"Their warship should be a low grade Chaos artifact… but at the highest tier of the low grade. I wonder if they possess stronger vessels… surely, though their number must be limited."
"As for their battle array… excellent. Enhancing, aligning, controlling, binding one hundred Souls unified as one. A formidable construct."
"Unfortunately, unsuitable for me. It is a bloodline array. Not runes, not formations the Phoenixes fuse by ancestry. My undead minions, though of one origin, are fundamentally different. They cannot replicate this."
He tested quietly and confirmed his guess.
The conventional battle arrays he had mastered had already fallen behind. To craft one befitting his path would demand modification, long effort, and uncertain results.
Thus, for now, he shelved the idea.
Lin Moyu's eyes flickered toward a patch of empty void behind the battlefield.
At first glance, barren.
Yet to his soul sense, two vast soul fires blazed brightly.
The Purple Gold Divine Phoenix… and King Luoyu… watching unseen.
As his gaze brushed them, their soul flames pulsed nervously. The two were shocked he should not have been able to perceive them.
Yet Lin Moyu only looked briefly before returning his attention to the fight.
By now, half the enemy had died. The Phoenixes had suffered not a single injury.
Their array even distributed damage to minimize impact, resembling his own passive undead mitigation laws.
"It's nearly over," Lin Moyu murmured. "The last ones should reveal themselves if they have lifelines, they'll show them now."
His perception was keen. Among the survivors, a few looked calm, even unhurried meaning they had trump cards… or powerful clans behind them.
They waited, all playing the same game let another burn his trump first.
Finally, one lost patience.
A man pulled forth a strange, vivid flower. He thrust its branches directly into his chest.
The flexible stalk hardened into a blade, piercing his heart.
Blood gushed. He screamed solemnly:
"Ancestor save me!"
The flower flared brilliant, petals blooming violently, blood aura staining every petal crimson. From within spilled sinister laughter, seductive and enthralling.
The laugh slithered into souls.
Lin Moyu jolted sharply. His skull prickled. For an instant, his soul mind grew hazy under its charm.
This meant only one thing
the laughter belonged to a Chaos Perfection cultivator.
His soul, refined through ten sublimations of the Great Dao, already rivaled even Perfections. And yet the laughter touched him.
Thus, no mistake: the "ancestor" behind this no name marauder was a Chaos Realm Full Completion powerhouse.
The laughter birthed a woman.
She stepped from the heart flower, clad in red robes, enchantment radiating.
The instant she arrived, Pang Qi's array buckled. The Phoenixes' rotations slowed. Their glow rose as they fought to resist her enthralling laugh.
Her eyes swept across and the array shattered.
At once, Pang Qi and his hundred warriors burst into their true forms giant phoenixes unfurling across the void.
Forming a new array, now on par with Chaos Great Completion.
But… against a Full Completion still useless.
Between Great Completion and Full Completion lay a gulf like earth and sky. Even if she appeared only with an avatar, her strength far surpassed them.
A flick of her finger
A phantom domain bloomed behind her. Chaos Qi rolled in tides.
BOOM!
The phoenix array exploded.
A hundred Phoenix warriors spewed blood, flung back in disarray.
The woman laughed brightly, but did not deliver killing blows. After all, these were Phoenixes she dared not slaughter them outright.
"You can leave," she chuckled wickedly. "This ancestor is in a fine mood today I won't kill you."
So claimed benevolence. But Lin Moyu understood she dared not. The Phoenix Clan she could not afford to provoke.
Still, as her laughter rang, others thought differently.
Suddenly
A purple flame blazed forth in front of her, erupting violently
