Chapter 4329: It's Time to Strike
When speaking before, the Purple Gold Divine Phoenix had already said clearly: this karma will be borne by the Divine Phoenix Clan.
That meant he had seen through Lin Moyu's intentions.
Lin Moyu was not surprised. With the Phoenix's cultivation, how could he not understand karma?
Having lived so many millions of years, such beings were shrewd beyond compare. With only the faintest hint, he could grasp the entire truth.
Thus Lin Moyu never intended to hide it neither from the Purple Gold Phoenix nor even from King Luoyu. They would know sooner or later.
What mattered was that his karmic plan succeeded.
For the next ten days, Lin Moyu went nowhere. He remained within his courtyard, preparing quietly.
He laid several simple arrays outside. Through them, he could easily sense countless individuals lurking and monitoring his residence.
This was exactly as he had expected. Nothing strange about it.
When ten days passed, Lin Moyu finally stepped out, rising into the sky and leaving the city as a streak of light.
Not even a breath later, hundreds of others shot skyward in pursuit, streaking after him.
Within Seventh City, a large battleship that had long been anchored shimmered and vanished, cloaking itself.
And within Sacred Peak, King Luoyu and the Purple Gold Divine Phoenix quietly took one step forward and left without a single sound.
Lin Moyu streaked away from Fallen Feather World toward the nearby chaos. His speed was not fast indeed, slightly slower than most ordinary small stage Chaos cultivators, not to mention those specialized in speed.
From this, all watching could see: he had only recently stepped into Chaos Lesser Completion, lacking experience and depth.
Behind him, points of light glimmered his pursuers. They deliberately suppressed their auras and did not overtake him yet.
After all, within the boundary of Fallen Feather World, none dared make a move. The tacit agreement was to wait until farther out then strike.
Lin Moyu's pace was steady, neither fast nor slow.
Xiao Peng, this time, had been sealed by him into storage. This karma was Lin Moyu's alone to bear.
After half a day, Fallen Feather World lay far behind. Chaos loomed ahead.
It should be soon, he thought, maintaining course straight into the endless expanse.
Sure enough. As the boundary to Chaos neared, those who had been lurking suddenly burst forward, their suppressions lifting. Dozens upon dozens surged at full power, some even revealing their true beast forms, speed exploding as they rushed to intercept.
In only moments, they overtook Lin Moyu.
Lin Moyu abruptly shifted direction, darting sideways. They mirrored instantly, cutting him off again and again.
Like a slippery fish, he wove through every attempted encirclement. The void was vast, and though their speeds outstripped his, catching him was not so simple.
But Chaos itself stirred. Daos roared. Qi seethed into storms.
Then, from all directions, waves of attacks poured down, each locking onto Lin Moyu's soul directly.
If capturing failed, then simple slaughter would do. Their only aim was clear: do not let him enter Chaos.
Lin Moyu's Wings of Disorder snapped open. His speed surged. The beating wings warped space, disrupting Dao laws, slipping him around many strikes.
Yet he did not retaliate. Attacking would create karma. He wanted only cause, not effect. Not even a sliver.
With his wings, his agility was unmatched, weaving between strikes, despite being surrounded by hundreds. Still, the pressure mounted. The closer to Chaos he drew, the more desperate his enemies became.
"Too slippery!"
"Don't let him get into Chaos!"
"Use the treasure now!"
One assailant whipped out a luminous pearl. Light flooded space. The void thickened, heavy and viscous. Lin Moyu's speed dropped threefold, while theirs barely fell at all. Instantly, his mobility edge vanished.
Several rushed close.
Lin Moyu's will moved. He swallowed a Chaos Fruit.
With a soft pop, it detonated in his core. Sweet essence coursed through his body. His aura spiked higher in an instant.
Though still at Lesser Completion, his strength bolstered enough to offset the pearl's suppression.
He dodged another rush but strikes descended again in a storm.
Unable to avoid all, Lin Moyu growled, sheathed himself in Chaos Qi, and chose the weakest attack, bracing.
BOOM!
He was sent tumbling, Chaos Qi scattered, wounds opening across his flesh.
Pale golden blood welled at the surface, but did not fall. At once, his Power of Life mended his body, wounds sealing rapidly.
The crowd cheered.
"He's truly not that strong he hasn't even condensed a Chaos War Armor!"
"Boy, surrender the Fruits and we'll spare your life!"
"Purple Gold Fruits aren't yours. If you keep them, you'll only die. Hand them over!"
Their voices rang out as attacks once again intensified.
Lin Moyu gave no reply. He only kept evading. By now, over ninety percent of the hunters had struck. Only a few still held back.
Lin Moyu deliberately drifted close to those few, baiting them.
Sure enough, greed triumphed. They, too, began to hurl strikes after him.
Perfect.
His eyes lit with cold brilliance.
BANG!
He deliberately took one more hit, then darted free of the encirclement.
This time, however, he did not suppress his passive abilities. His undead servants and his personal domain bore much of the blow. He felt nothing.
Watching from outside, many frowned. Something felt wrong.
And then Lin Moyu stopped fleeing.
He turned back, standing tall, and his voice rolled like thunder:
"You may strike now!"
For a heartbeat, they froze.
Then WHOOM!
From empty air, a giant warship, bird shaped, shimmered into existence. It had been waiting all along, cloaked.
Its runes blazed. Power swept wide. Instantly, the space froze solid. Chaos itself went still. No escape technique could function here. Speed slowed to half, more. Unless one's power surpassed even the Phoenix Clan battleship, flight was impossible.
"It's the Phoenix Clan's warship! A trap!"
"Why why intervene for him?"
"We had no quarrel with the Divine Phoenix Clan why do they act against us?"
Their shouts meant nothing.
The warship's gates blazed open.
From within charged Pang Qi, leading a squadron of Phoenix warriors.
Swords and flames lit the void as the ambush sprang.
