Chapter 4331: The Ancestral Land of the Divine Phoenix
The Purple Gold flames swept outward like a sea of fire, giving the red clad woman not the slightest chance to react.
It wasn't just her. The remaining dozen cultivators were devoured in an instant, reduced to ash by the blazing fire.
One breath ago, the enchantress had looked invincible and proud. In the next, she was gone without a scream, consumed into nothingness.
This was the difference in power even between Chaos Full Completion cultivators, the gap was like heaven and earth. The Purple Gold Divine Phoenix's strength was overwhelming.
Ten breaths. That was all it took. Every living enemy had perished under the Phoenix flames.
Yet strangely, though the flames incinerated souls and bodies alike, leaving no trace, the foes' artifacts and treasures remained untouched.
Lin Moyu's heart stirred. Such control… terrifying.
The Purple Gold Divine Phoenix and King Luoyu revealed themselves.
The Phoenix smiled faintly.
"Daoist Lin, are you satisfied?"
Pang Qi immediately reverted from his phoenix form along with his warriors. They bowed deeply before their ancestor.
Lin Moyu smiled back.
"More than satisfied. Thank you, senior."
At a wave of his hand, the Phoenix sent all the surviving artifacts toward Lin Moyu.
"These things are yours."
Lin Moyu didn't refuse.
"Then I shall take them graciously."
He swept them away, then flicked a storage ring toward Pang Qi.
"Daoist Pang, this is what I promised."
Pang Qi caught it, probing with his consciousness. His eyes lit up, shock and joy flashing across his face.
Inside were four Purple Gold Fruits.
Lin Moyu had little regard for them. To him, they were nothing compared to the treasures he truly held. But prudence demanded restraint he could not give away too many at once. Otherwise Pang Qi might suspect he owned far greater treasures, provoking greed.
Four fruits was already extremely generous.
By Pang Qi's expression, he was ecstatic, even touched by surprise.
Lin Moyu reminded calmly,
"Daoist Pang do not forget our agreement."
Pang Qi nodded immediately. He withdrew a jade slip, inscribing information into it.
Lin Moyu had asked for the identities of all those who had come for his life. Pang Qi recorded everything he knew, every faction backing them.
Once done, he handed the jade to Lin Moyu, who accepted without checking. He trusted Pang Qi for now.
Thus ended the battle Lin Moyu had schemed from the start.
He turned toward the Phoenix.
"Senior, when do we depart?"
The Purple Gold Phoenix smiled.
"First, receive what you requested. Here are the materials you asked for."
He tossed a storage ring.
Lin Moyu didn't bother checking its contents.
"There's no need. I trust you. Let's go."
A satisfied gleam crossed the Phoenix's eyes.
"Thank you, Daoist Lin, for your trust. Then let me prepare the array."
He produced another giant array disk, setting it down.
It was a portable ancient teleportation array, immense power surging through it. Such things were not casually used it required massive reserves of Chaos Gold.
He poured treasures into the formation, guiding its runes, adjusting the coordinates again and again.
A sign of secrecy the destination shifted constantly, or lay within a special hidden spatial plane.
Lin Moyu knew at once: their goal must be the Ancestral Land of the Divine Phoenixes.
King Luoyu quietly told Pang Qi and the others,
"Do not kneel any longer. Soon you will glimpse a corner of the Ancestral Land. Look carefully this is a once in a lifetime chance. Remember it. Perhaps one day you may enter."
At that, the Phoenix warriors rose, eyes burning with expectation.
The array whirled, spitting out a gigantic vortex of light. From within surged ancient aura, scattering chaos qi for billions of miles.
For an instant, they glimpsed the Ancestral Land itself.
The Phoenix warriors gasped. Their bloodlines trembled violently, instinctively recognizing the call of their progenitors. Desire, reverence, longing filled their faces.
To step into the Ancestral Land was the highest glory.
Only the Eight Kings and a handful of Full Completions had done so.
Luoyu told Pang Qi quietly,
"If you one day succeed in evolving an eighth feather… you too may enter."
Pang Qi's body shook.
"Truly?"
"Truly," Luoyu assured him. "And then your name will be changed to… Pang Eight."
Pang Qi's hands clenched tightly over his new storage ring. Within it were four Purple Gold Fruits the hope for his feather evolution. His eyes blazed with fierce determination.
The vortex stabilized. The vision of the Ancestral Land grew clearer. Phoenixes soared across the skies beyond, majestic and dreamlike.
The Purple Gold Phoenix turned.
"Luoyu, you stay here. I and Daoist Lin will go. Lead the others back."
King Luoyu inclined his head.
"May the ancestors bless your success."
The Phoenix laughed, confident.
"They surely will."
With a gesture, he invited Lin Moyu.
Without hesitation, Lin Moyu stepped into the vortex.
The formation flared, sucking them through. Then it shattered and vanished, gone like a burst of foam.
The transmission was long, far longer than any he had endured before. Which meant only one thing the distance was immeasurable.
Nearly an hour later, light finally burst before them.
They emerged into a place of dazzling brilliance. Radiant colors flooded the skies.
The Ancestral Land.
In the heavens, phoenixes of indescribable grandeur flew ceaselessly. Their presence was overwhelming, though Lin Moyu noticed they were not truly living Phoenixes, but illusory forms, woven by a protective formation that cloaked the entire realm.
"So this… is your clan's Ancestral Land?" he asked.
The Phoenix glanced at the disk in his hand, the one used for transmission. Cracks riddled its surface. He hurled it upward, where spatial power drew it away.
"This array plate will take ten thousand years to mend before it can be used again," he sighed.
Lin Moyu raised a brow.
"So fragile?"
"It is not fragile," the Phoenix answered. "It is unique. The Ancestral Land lies in a special position that even I cannot locate directly. Only through formations left by the Ancestors can we reach it. Every plate can be used but once, before requiring repair."
Lin Moyu nodded faintly. The secrets ran deep indeed.
They descended toward vast ruins.
"This was our Ancestral City," the Purple Gold Phoenix explained. "Once our progenitor's dwelling. But long ago, it was destroyed."
A heavy ancient aura pressed upon them.
"Follow me closely. Within the ruins dangers sometimes appear. Do not wander off."
Lin Moyu's eyes sharpened, studying the land.
This place was no ordinary ruin. Strange forces swirled within its depths. He would not take a careless step. Who knew what horrors slept hidden in the Ancestral City of the Divine Phoenix Clan?
