After being put into my cell and taking the bag off my head I sat on the ground, as there was no seating. A few minutes later and still no one came into the room, so I decided to look at my system a bit. With the addition of the inventory I could now see how much health and mana I had. I glanced through it and saw that currently I had 254 hp and 22 mp, 1200 Gold, 5 skill points, and 18 stat points. I had leveled up so much in rapid succession that I hadn't allocated my stats and stuff recently. 'I should probably just use them now so that I'm not caught in a situation lacking again' I thought. 'Let's see if putting points into mind affects my mana or something,' I placed 10 points into mind. Now, my mana was at a staggering… 25. 'Seriously?! Only 3 mana up. How does that Mind stat affect mana in the first place!' I thought. A window popped up 'Mana is proportional to your level, mind stat, and any other multipliers you may obtain,' was the response. 'And what about hp?' 'Hp is proportional to your level, vitality stat, and any other multipliers you may obtain' "Should have guessed that," I murmured. 'Well let's see what my remaining 8 points do to my Health then,' I thought, not expecting much. From 254 it went to 281. "That's better," I said.
I decided that it wouldn't hurt to throw my 5 points into lesser shapeshifting, which brought it up to level 11. 'Looks like it's going to need more than ten levels this time,' I sighed, 'There really is not much to do, and if Winter said not to make a move then I probably shouldn't break out or anything, not that I would have done that anyway' I thought.
And so I waited and waited. My stomach was starting to growl at one point. Then finally, someone walked in. They looked to be a sheep infernal, but given that they were here it was likely that they were a demon. The categorization was confusing. I started to speak and was abruptly cut off, "stop, stop, just let me ask some questions and we can be over with this soon," they said. After some quick questions and clarifications they stood up and left. I guessed that they already talked with Winter given they already knew quite a bit about our situation, and as I was just thinking, they seemed to mainly want to clarify things and match stories. I was back to doing nothing, so I started to look around. And that was when I noticed something! After that fight with the abomination thing, my health bar was always there even when it was full, because of the purple bit in it that was ruined. But I just realized that the bar was no longer there. And there was no indicator in my inventory or system that my health wasn't at max so I figured that it had been healed! 'I think that in the description of the rune of ruin it said 'Can also absorb ruin inside a being to charge'. After checking it again I saw that I was not wrong. 'I guess the rune absorbed the ruin damage that I took' I thought. 'What is the charge of the rune?' I asked the system. '5.2%' 'I guess it charges really slowly then,' I thought sadly, I wanted to be able to use that beam of ruin afterall.
There really wasn't anything to do and before I knew it, I had woken up. Not exactly sure when I fell asleep, But I somehow had. Even though I was now freezing and really hungry. I must have been super tired from all that fighting and the shock of that amalgamated thing. Looking around I realized that it might have been the opening of a door that woke me up, given that there was someone in the room now. This demon seemed to be a crocodile. They had a platter with some nice looking food on it. And after unlocking part of the cell they slid the platter through it and relocked the door. "Thanks" I said. "Yeah well, we have decided to release you because we think we apprehended you on false charges," He said in a gravelly voice. "Although we will still blindfold you while we lead you out, for safety reasons, sorry about all this," "it's fine" I said "I can't help but wonder one thing though," I said. "Could I ask something?" "what is it," "what was on that letter," After some consideration the demon said, "Just something about a higher ranking infernal coming by, nothing much," A second later and the door shut behind him. I glanced over at the platter again. There was a bowl of steaming soup, some nice looking bread, a salad, something that kinda looked like cake, and a steaming steak, or something like that. Overall it looked very nice and smelled good too. Luckily, it also tasted good. I took my time with it, not knowing when they would come to let me out. After finishing I placed the platter near the cell bars and leaned against the wall, taking a deep breath 'Did the ground just shake? Do these places even get earthquakes,' I wondered. Turns out it was not my imagination as it shook again, stronger this time, then again and again. "What is happening?!" I muttered. 'Is it an earthquake?' I asked myself. I was not expecting an answer but I got one anyway. Not from the system but from the door being blasted off its hinges.
