Claudia Ross took out her phone after class and saw that Mark Reed had called her.
She hesitated for a moment before calling him back.
The call was quickly connected, and she heard Mark Reed's apologetic voice: "I'm sorry, Claudia. My parents and Sharry Vaux's parents have already left. You can go home today. I truly apologize. It's all my fault for involving you. Please don't be mad at me."
